第一课时 课型 Vocabulary
教学目标 在本课学习结束时，学生能够： 掌握描述身边人的基本词汇，如smart, cheerful, hard-working, patient encourage, support。并能够掌握本单元重点词汇的用法。 能够在文段中，借助上下文推断所缺词汇。 在描述身边人时候，能够通过举例说明一个人的性格，并口头表达评价与感受。 学习通过分类、在语境中运用方法来更好地掌握词汇。
教学内容 分析 本单元的主题围绕“身边的人”展开，本课是词汇课，学生借助图片、思维导图和描述身边人的语境，学习单元核心词汇smart, cheerful, hard-working, patient encourage, support, successful, give up, take care of等
学情分析 本班学生属于增城区的普通生源，整体外向积极，学习态度认真，有一定的英语基础，愿意表达，但词汇学习上缺少方法，词汇的识记和运用比较困难，在文段中恰当运用词汇的能力还有待提高。
教学重难点 教学重点：掌握本单元重点词汇及其用法。 教学难点：能在恰当语境中正确运用词汇。

前置作业 熟读本单元单词，并思考我们可以如何介绍身边的人。
教学环节 教与学活动（师生活动） 设计意图
Step 1: T guides students to talk about the people around us. 该环节为感知与注意活动设计。引导学生联系自己的日常生活，激活词汇，激发学习兴趣。
Step 2: Ss share what we can talk about the people around us. T guides Ss to think about the useful expressions to describe a person 该环节为感知与注意活动设计。其目的是激活单元主题相关词汇，根据思维导图学习话题相关词汇。
Step 3: Read Jane’s description of the people around her and fill in the blanks with proper words. T summarizes the skills T helps Ss Summarize the use of the vocabulary in this Unit. T leads Ss to consolidate the words by completing a short article 该环节为获取与梳理、活动设计。学生通过语境学习本单元核心词汇，并在老师的帮助下掌握核心用法。
Step 4: T leads Ss to summarize how we can describe a person around us. Ss talk about a person they love and make a conversation with their partner. 该环节为整合与内化活动设计。学生整理描述身边人的思路，整合词汇，内化单元核心词汇并运用新学词汇，描述自己的喜爱的身边人。
Step 5: T guides Ss to review what they have learned in this lesson. 总结与反思。学生回顾课堂重点知识。
Homework Describe a classmate in our class with what we have learnt today.
