To be able to read and understand vocabulary about travel through reading the passage .
To identify specific information and use reading tips such as scanning while doing reading tasks .
To talk about travel experience with classmates using the vocabulary and structure and write a passage .
核心内容:
Key vocabulary – send, way, mix, miss, count, count down
Key structures– They have been to many interesting places.
Mike and Clare have also begun to learn the language of the country, Arabic.

课前读词:Ask Ss to do a chant and to pat their hands follow the music

Step I . Warming up
Let Ss watch a video about Pyramids and try to get the main idea.
(设计意图:通过观看《埃及金字塔》英文视频,将学生带入英语语境,同时做好背景信息铺垫,激发学生学习欲望。)
StepII . Lead-in
1.Discussion:

2)Have you ever seen the Pyramids?
Ask Ss to discuss and lead in the topic :today we’ll meet some new friends, they have seen the pyramids.

1.Guess : Which country have they been ?

2. Background information :Ask students what do you know about Egypt,then show them some pictures of Egypt to arouse their interest and lead them into the passage.
(设计意图:图片展示、介绍埃及的基本情况,为学生做好读前背景知识铺垫,激发学生学习兴趣.)
Step IV. While reading.
1. Fast reading
1)“They have seen the Pyramids”. Who are “They”?

2. Careful reading
Read Paragraph1-2 and do the following exercises:

3.Watch and read :
1)Let Ss read after the video and imitate the pronunciation , intonation and the structure “have + past participle” in groups .
2)Sentence pipe. Pipe the key sentence and pay attention to the structure"have + pp".

StepV. Post reading
1.Welcome party: Mike and Clare have come back to the US, their friends hold a party for them, and they are asking Mike and Clare about their travel experiences. Work in group of four and do a role-play,one student can be Mike /Clare , others can play their friends .
Example: Mike: Hi , everyone .
Fs: Hi , Mike . Welcome back .
Mike: Thank you .

2. Show Time: Which interesting places in China have you visited ? Share your own experiences in group of four. You can choose one member to make a presentation after discussion.

We will not only have good experience but also have bad experience . How can we deal with this kind of experiences ?
