Since last year, city streets around China have seen color1ful shared bikes, which people can rent(租) with a phone app and then park wherever they choose. To reduce traffic jams and air pollution, many cities have offered bike-sharing. But sometimes, dreams can be destroyed.
As shared bikes become more popular, problems keep showing up. According to news reports, shared bikes are badly treated by users. When people are using the bike, some of them just throw it onto streets. Some bikes are stolen. Recently, a man in Shanghai was fined (罚款) 1,000 yuan for stealing a shared bike.
Besides, the damage to the QR codes on the bikes has brought huge losses to bike-sharing companies, like Mobike. If the QR code is damaged, the bike cannot be used any more. It can take several hundred yuan for the company workers to find a lost bike and get it repaired.
Mobike has 100 credit (信用) scores for each user. Once the score drops to below 80, bike rental will go up to five yuan per 30 minutes.

Water is a natural resource we all share. People use water for many things, like drinking, washing, cleaning, and swimming. As more people move to our region, more water is needed to take care of their needs. Waterworks (自来水厂)is working hard to increase supplies(供应), but water is still a limited resource. That's why it's important for you to use water wisely and not waste it. When you waste water, you're using water that other people might need. But when you use water carefully, there is more water for other people to use.
It is also important to use water carefully because we rely on rain, sleet and snow to bring us water and since the weather is unpredictable(不可预测的), it sometimes results in a drought when there isn't enough water available. That's what water conservation(保护) is all about---using water wisely and not wasting it.
What can you do?
You can save water by following these tips:
Don't keep the water running while you're brushing your teeth;
Don't run the tap for a cold drink of water. Use ice cubes or keep a pitcher(水壶)of water in the refrigerator;
Take shorter showers or use less bath water. Make it a game. When you take your shower, keep a timer in the bathroom and see if you can get your shower down to five minutes…and still get clean!
Get help from your mom or dad to:
Fix a dripping tap---it can waste as much as 20 gallons of water a day!
Install a water---saving shower head.
Water you lawn or garden early in the morning or late in the evening---that way you lose less to evaporation(气化,蒸干).
Don't run the hose while washing you car. Use a bucket of water and just quickly rinse(洗刷) with a hose at the end.
Impress your parents:
Find water leaks you can't see. Here's how. Read your water meter. Then, don't use any water for a couple of hours. Read the meter again. If it has changed, you have a leak somewhere. Help your parents find the leak and fix it.

Why do we like drinking water from plastic bottles Some people think it’s healthy and clean. Others drink bottled water because it’s easy—you can carry it around with you. In hot countries, like Greece (希腊), we often buy bottles of cold water in summer.
However, making lots of plastic isn’t a good idea for many reasons. First of all, we need a lot of oil for plastic products (产品). We usually use oil as a source (资源) of energy. If we reduced (减少) the number of bottles we made, we wouldn’t need so much oil. Plastic bottles also pollute the environment. If we recycled (循环使用) all our plastic bottles, we wouldn’t need so much space for rubbish . But in Greece, we don’t recycle much of the plastic we use. In 2006, Greeks recycled only about 10% of plastic waste. The rest became rubbish on land and in rivers and seas.
So next time you want to throw away a plastic bottle in the litter bin (垃圾桶), stop and think. If you recycled it, you would help the environment. But what can you do when there isn’t a recycling bin near you Well, there’re lots of useful ways that you can use your bottles again. For example, an empty bottle makes a great piggy bank (零钱罐) for your pocket money, and if you cut a hole in half, you’ll have a plant pot.
Go green! You can make a difference.
48.Plastic products are made from ________.

A. To make a different life, you’d better go outside.
