教材内容分析
本单元是对第一单元的延伸,学生在学习使用will+do引导的一般将来时谈论未来学校的基础上,进一步扩大主题范围,围绕人类与自然和社会,对未来生活进行畅想。本课以托尼对未来生活的想象为切入点,以议论文论证的方式从气候、穿衣、出行和假期四方面的变化描述了他心目中的未来世界。文章结构清晰,为总分结构,语言简洁,论证合理。总起段以三个疑问词——what, how, which激发读者猜想,引出作者下文的猜想和论述;论述段A、B、C、D分别围绕clothes、weather、travel和holiday四方面进行大胆猜想,以what、how为立足点进行解释论证,辐射出相关词汇表达如季节spring, summer, autumn, winter, 自然景象rain, wind, sea level, 交通工具bus, bike, plane, car, 地理位置air, land, sea, space, 社会现象traffic jam, holiday, machine, robot, working hours等,形容词对比表达warm, cool, hot, cold, expensive, cheap, heavy, light, difficult, easy, long, short,展现出事物过去和未来的变化,揭示出背后的原因是科技的发展,以及其根本原因是人类与自然之间存在发展不平衡的矛盾。通过描述未来生活好的一面如智能控温服装、高性价比私人飞行器、机器人为人类工作等,使读者认识到科技的益处,鼓励读者发挥创新精神,借助科技的力量实现自己的人生价值;同时也通过描述未来生活坏的一面,如社会现实全球变暖、海平面上升以及可能出现的空中交通堵塞等,使读者认识到科技的双刃剑作用,思考如何贡献自身力量去实现人类和大自然发展之间的平衡。
学情分析
本模块Life in the future是学生感兴趣的话题。学生的好奇心强、想象力丰富,具有一定的学习积极性。通过U1的学习,学生对一般将来时will do已有一定的熟悉,能够运用will+do的特殊疑问句、一般疑问句和陈述句简单描述学校未来的生活,具有一定语言能力基础;能够辩证看待线上学习的利弊,客观分析科技给学习带来的影响,利用科技的成果丰富自己的学习策略,提升自己的学习能力;能够从材料中提取语篇具体的浅层信息,对语言进行一定描述阐释、分析判断和内化运用,但是对于超越语篇的活动,如推理、论证作者背后的意图,批判评价作者的观点以及基于本课传递的价值观进行内容的创造性输出则存在一定不足,批判性思维发展不成熟,因此需要教师引导和帮助。
教学目标
1. Acquire the basic information of the passage and form the structural and information knowledge with “what” “how” “which” by visible pictures.2. Describe “what” “how” through the information knowledge and analyze “why” comes the good and bad things.3. Evaluate the author’s opinion objectively by “which” ones come true and analyze “how” to make them come true.4. Design an interview about life in the future by “what” “how” and “which” to make them come true and make preparations for writing a news report.
教学重难点
Key points:Students can use “will+do” with useful words and phrases as well as sentence patterns to describe life in the future.Key words and phrases: air, land, sea, rain, wind,weather, clothes, job, travel, machine, robot, holiday, change, warm, hot, cool, cold, cheap, expensive, heavy, difficult, light, easy, short, long, over, into;come true, here is/are, sea level, traffic jams, working hour, not only...but also..., not...any more, no more...Key sentence patterns: What will life be like... The weather will be quite warm... We will/won’t travel... Difficult points: Students can analyze the way of achieving their dreams, realize the power of science and technology as well as human’s willing and learn the importance of keeping the balance of human and nature.
