　　形容词用于修饰名词,表示名词的特点和属性,一般放在它所修饰的名词之前,在句中可作定语、表语和宾语补足语。
　　副词用于修饰动词、形容词、其他副词或全句,说明时间、地点、程度、方式等概念。副词分为时间副词、地点副词、程度副词、疑问副词、连接副词和频率副词等。副词主要用作状语,少数与介词同形的副词还可以作表语或补足语。
1.作定语:放在被修饰的名词之前,但若被修饰的词是something,anything等复合不定代词时,形容词要后置。
如:a clever boy　一个聪明的男孩　　　
something special　一些特别的事情
2.作表语:放在be动词或系动词之后。如:The flower is beautiful.那朵花真美丽。
　　常见的接形容词作表语的系动词有:一似乎 (seem),二保持 (keep,stay),三变化 (become,get,turn),五感官 (feel,sound,look,smell,taste)。
如:He seems angry.他似乎生气了。
You must keep healthy.你必须保持健康。
Her face turned red.她的脸变红了。
This kind of cloth feels very soft.这种布料摸起来很柔软。
The flower smells sweet.这朵花闻起来香香的。
3.作宾语补足语:放在宾语之后,常与make,leave,keep,find,feel,think等动词连用。
如:You must keep your eyes closed when you do eye exercises.
当你做眼保健操时,你必须闭上眼睛。
The sad movie made me sad.这部悲伤的电影让我伤感。
4.“It’s+adj.+of+sb.+to do sth.”表示“某人做某事怎么样”。用于此句型的形容词多为kind,nice,polite,clever等形容词,形容人的主观情感、性格、品质、态度等。
如:It’s kind of him to help me.他帮助我,他真好。
5.“It’s+adj.+for+sb.+to do sth.”表示“做某事对某人来说怎么样”。用于此句型的多为difficult,easy,dangerous,pleasant等描述事物客观情况的形容词。
如:It’s very important for us to learn English well.学好英语对我们很重要。
6.表示感情和情绪的形容词,如glad,happy,sorry,sad,thankful,pleased等,后面常接动词不定式。
如:I’m glad to see you here.很高兴在这里见到你。
I’m sorry to keep you waiting for a long time.要你久等,真是不好意思。
以-ing结尾的形容词表示“令人……”,以-ed结尾的形容词表示 “感到……”。
如:You will be excited by our exciting performance.你会为我们令人激动的表演感到激动的。
