(2)She helped you to work out the answers yourself no matter how difficult they were. (3)Because of her, I put in more effort and my exam scores doubled. 3. 能学会以下技能: 能够用准确的语言分享过去的经历和回忆。

教学过程 Step 1: Leading in 1. Let students work in groups of four. Ask them to discuss the questions: (1)Do you have any special memories of junior high school (2)Which teachers will you miss the most after junior high school 2. After all the groups have finished discussion, choose some students to share their answers. 3. Let students work in pairs. Ask them to take turns to talk about their special memories about the junior high school in the past three years. Step 2: Presentation 1. Ask students to look at the picture in 1a and think about what the party is about. (Answer: It’s about a graduation party.) 2. Get students do activity 1a individually. Then go around the class and get every student to share one thing he / she remembers and experienced during his / her junior high school years. 3. Encourage students to share something that is not on the list and has not been shared by someone before. If all the students have been in the same class all these years, it is possible some of the events may be the same. However, their perspective will usually be different. Step 3: Listening 1. Before playing the recording, tell students that they should use a chart to take notes. This will help since there are four speakers. A chart with the four speakers’ names at the top will help them keep track of who said what. (Answers: b Mary a Frank c Sarah a Peter) 2. Let students listen again and answer the following questions: (1)What did Mary lose in Grade 7 (2)Who helped Mary find it (3)What kind of person is Mr. Brown (4)How does Peter feel about Mr. Brown (5)What did Peter do to meet Mr. Brown’s standards 3. Show the listening material to students. Ask them to read the conversation sentence by sentence following the recording. Step 4: Discussion 1. Ask students to list some memories or experiences from junior high school, and then share their partners. (Attention: Before starting the activity, ask students about the difference between an experience and a memory. An experience is something that has actually happened to you or the skill or knowledge you gain by doing something. A memory is what you remember of something, regardless whether you have seen it or done it. Direct students to the examples in the textbook. Ask them to discuss why each of the examples was placed in that specific column.) 2. Let students answer the questions freely. Encourage students to answer the questions voluntarily: (1)Which teachers will you miss the most after junior high school Why (2)What did your teacher say to you What advice your teacher give you before Step 5: Listening 1. Ask students to close their textbooks and just listen and take notes when the recording is being played. 2. Once the conversation has been played, ask students to work on this activity in pairs. Do they both agree on the answers If not, why Get them to look at their notes and decide whether the question is referring to something specific or something inferred from what was said. (Answers: Someone didn’t like P.E. Someone was advised to take a break from running by a teacher. Someone liked Mr. Hunt’s teaching methods.) 3. Without playing the recording again, ask students to answer the questions in this activity then share their answers with their partner. Check with the class how many of the pairs agreed on all four answers. 4. Play the recording again and get students to check their answers. Did the pairs that agreed on all four answers get all their answers right (Answers: 1. d 2. c 3. b 4. a) 5. Playing the recording again and ask students to answer the questions: (1)Why is the P.E. teacher great (2)What do they think of their life in junior high school (3)How did they invite the band to play at their school (4)What is Lisa going to do after she graduates from junior high 6. Show students listening materials. Ask them to read the conversation sentence by sentence following the recording. Step 6: Group work Let students work in groups of three or four, and then role-play the conversation using the information in 2a or 2b. Step 7: Role-play Ask students to role-play the conversation in 2d and then explain the key sentences and phrases to students. (1)In their pairs, get students to role-play the conversation in the textbook. Make sure that they are reading the parts with the correct intonation and expression. (2)Once they have done that, ask them to rewrite parts of the conversation using their own examples. They should also rewrite the reasons why they will miss those teachers. (3)Get students to role-play their rewritten conversations in front of the class. Step 8: Language points 1. in a row in a row “连续几次地”。 This is the third Sunday in a row that it's rained. 这是接连着的第三个星期天下雨了。 2. instruction instruction在“He gave really clear instructions during P. E. class.”这句话中作可数名词,其复数形式instructions常用来表示“用法说明,操作指南”。常用表达有: give instructions (on...) 给出(……方面的)指示 follow the instructions 遵循说明书;按照用法说明 3. double (1)double 可作动词,意为“加倍;是……的两倍”。 I think we can double our marks in one year. 我认为我们可以在一年内把成绩翻一番。 (2)double还可作形容词,意为“两倍的;加倍的”。 They bought a double bed. 他们买了一张双人床。 4. shall shall 是情态动词,意为“将要;将会”。 Shall we all go to the film tonight 我们今晚都去看电影吗 Everything shall be in good order. 一切都应该井然有序。
