Three-year-old Teddy Lasry was sleeping yesterday in his bedroom when he jumped out of bed shouting. A 3-foot-long black-and-white snake bit his hand and was still around his left arm.
“The baby-sitter was frightened,” said Teddy’s father, David Lasry. He and his wife, Evelyn, were at work when the snake appeared at about 4 pm.
The baby-sitter called 911 and the building’s doorman. The doorman and two cleaners helped move the snake off the boy’s arm and put it in a rubbish (垃圾) bag, Lasry said.
The police took Teddy to hospital very quickly, and the doctor spent two hours checking if the snake was poisonous. Luckily, it wasn’t. Teddy was nothing serious.

A police officer said that the snake ran away two weeks ago from the apartment (公寓) of a doctor. He lives four floors below the Lasrys. The snake traveled up and got into the Lasrys’ apartment.

Three-year-old Teddy Lasry was sleeping yesterday in his bedroom when he jumped out of bed shouting. A 3-foot-long black-and-white snake bit his hand and was still around his left arm.
“The baby-sitter was frightened,” said Teddy’s father, David Lasry. He and his wife, Evelyn, were at work when the snake appeared at about 4 pm.
The baby-sitter called 911 and the building’s doorman. The doorman and two cleaners helped move the snake off the boy’s arm and put it in a rubbish (垃圾) bag, Lasry said.
