In Liaoning Province, a couple spent nearly half a century turning two poor mountains into a home for birds with their hands.
Tian Wangui, 67, and his wife Lu Min, are villagers in Qiantian Village. They wanted to plant fruit trees to make a living. In 1982, the couple got the contract rights(合同权) of two poor mountains and started planting.

After many tries, they found several kinds of trees were strong enough to live in the poor mountains. They bought these trees and planted them.
Now, the two mountains are covered by over 50,000 trees. The mountains have also won the love of rare (稀有的) birds. Now, more than 2,000 rare birds live in the mountains every year. Last year, Tian and Lu’s mountains have been given the name “Lu Ling”. The job of the couple has also changed, from planting trees to patrolling(巡逻) mountains.

Bruce is a sixty-year-old man. He is an American but moved to Africa 30 years ago. Since then, he has lived in Khémisseta, a city in Morocco(摩洛哥). The city is small and few people know about it but Bruce likes it very much.

Living in a small city, of course, is not so easy as living in big cities but makes Bruce know most people here. What’s more, in big cities most people often feel lonely.
The third reason why he likes this city is its rural feel. In the city, he can still enjoy nature. And the four seasons are different but beautiful.
