教学目标
1. Language knowledge: *Students are able to use on, in, under to describe the prepositions. *Students are able to use the phrase to pause in the spoken language. 2.Culture awareness: Students are able to have an awareness to clean up their rooms. 3. Thinking ability: Students are able to think about how to respond decently in a conversation. 4.Learning ability: *Students are able to take notes. *Students are able to work with others.
教学内容
教学重点: To talk about the preposition in spoken language. 教学难点: To take notes by listening.
教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in 1. Show a picture of the boy Tom and Tom's room. 2. Introduce the things in the room. 3. Learn the new words: radio, tape, tape player. 4. Make sentences with the new words. (I can see..., and it's/they're in/on/under...) Step 2 Pre-listening 1. 1a Match the words with the pictures. Check the answers: A is the radio... 2. Pair work T: Is Tom's room tidy Students: No, it isn't. T: So it is not easy for Tom to find his things in his room. Look at Tom, he is looking for something. “I need the pencils. Where are they ” This is Helen, Tom’s sister, who is offering to help. “Hmm, are they on the table ” “Uh...No, they aren’t. Oh, they’re in the schoolbag.” It seems that Tom finds the pencils by himself. Speaking tip: Pay attention to the phrase "hmm" (to pause and to think) Step 3 While-listening 1. Thinking Show the picture of Tom's mother who is taking notes. Ask the Ss to think about these questions: Who is Tom calling Why does he make the call Why is she writing What is she writing 2. 1c Listen and circle the things Tom wants from his room. Tom wants the English books, ruler, notebook and tape. 3. 1d Listen again. Where are these things Write them down. Before the listening, lead students to write down what are these things. (Tom wants the English books, ruler, notebook and tape.) T: The whole sentence is a bit longer for you to write down, so you can just write the key words, and then add the other words. For example, the notes for the first sentence in 1d could be written as follows: English books/under/radio Listening tips: take notes; write down the key words. check the answers: The English books are under the radio. The ruler is on the bed. The notebook is under the model plane in the bookcase. The tape is in the tape player. 4. Imitate and learning Imitate the whole conversation. Learn to speak vividly, politely and naturally. Step 4: After-listening Scene: Tom is calling for his Mom again! What happened Tom is going to a school science fair, but he left some things at home. The fair starts at 2:00 p.m. in the school library. He is calling his mom for help…again. T: Let’s think about a question. What does Tom need to go to a school science fair Look at his room. Ss: He may need his ID card, the model plane, the notebook and so on. Checklist: Target language, speak vividly/politely/natually. Step 5: Homework Oral work: practice your conversation in your group. Written work: write down your conversation and revise it.
