Step1 lead-in: Activity: Picture appreciation Enjoy the pictures about the movie named Roman Holiday . Display some pictures about myself. (watching+thinking) 1 Show students some pictures and ask Students think about the question: What can you see from the picture 2. Step2Presentation Activity1: Understand the definition Learn the key words. Listeing and finish the first exercise. (watching+thinking) Teach students read and ask one or two students to students to read. Check the answer. 10min PPT Let sudents’ have a better understanding of what we are going to learn.
Activity2:Listen to the tape Scam the whole passage. Listen the tape. (watching+listening) 1.Show a map about America. 2.Play a tape. 5min PPT Improve students’s discrimination and listening for gist.
Step3 Practice Activities3: Dicussion and prediction 1.Personal work: listen to the tape, read after it and find out the answers. 2. Pair work: make a simple dialogue. 3. Fill in the blanks. (reading+thinking+speaking) 1. Let students listen to the tape and read after it. 2.Ask students work in pairs, discuss with each others, then finish the flowing questions: ①How did Betty get to Los Angeles ②How did Betty get to her friends’home ③why has Betty excited at Disneyland ④How long did she stay in Disneyland ⑤Where did she swimming 3.Check the answer. 5min PPT 1.Develop the students’ ability of skimming and scanning, enable the students to find new questions and try to solve them . 2.Enable students to be actived in the class activities through pair work and group competition. 3.Enable students to master the important and difficult points.

Step6 :Homework Students search some information about some interesting and special holiday activities. (thinking and writing) 1. Inform students the homework: My holiday journey. Write a 120-words passage about it.(布置作业) Let students do a morning report tomorrow morning. 2min PPT Improve stusdent’s ability of writing and their oral English.
