Step 1 Preparation
Greet the whole class as usual.
T: First I will give you a small video. After watching the video, I will ask you a question. Now let’s enjoy it together.
T:Well, you have finished watching the video, My question is: what can you see in the video
Ss:
T:You can see many people. Are they different
Ss: Yes.
T: They have different colors and different skins. They also have different bodies and hair. Everyone is different. Different people have different looks. Although they are different,they are special. No matter he is tall or short, thin or fat. Do you think you are special Yeah, Everyone is special. In this class, our topic is talk about one’s looks.
T:First, let’s talk about one’s height. Do you know height
Ss:Yes.
T: Height means身高. OK,read after the sound. Now, Look at the picture. We can see there are two boys. One of them is tall.(跟读单词) The other is.short. (跟读单词)We can see that the two words can describe someone’s height. There are three people here. One is short(学生齐说). This one is tall(学生齐说). The beautiful lady is not short or tall, we can say be of medium height.(跟读单词)

Ss:Yes.
T: Build means 体型. OK,read after the sound.(跟读单词) Now, Look at the picture. Here are two people. One of them is fat. The other is thin. We can see that the two words can describe someone’s build. Here is a lady’ body change. We can see that at first she is very fat/heavy(学生齐说并跟读单词), Gradually she is of medium build(学生齐说) .At last he becomes very thin(学生齐说并跟读单词).

T: Different people have different height and different build. And different people have different hair. In the picture we can see many hairstyles. Here are four hair styles. This one’s hair is long (学生齐说). We can say she has long hair. Well, this one hair is short (学生齐说). We can say she has short hair. He this one her here is curly . We can say she has curly hair. The last one, her hair is long and her hair is straight (学生齐说).We Can say she has straight hair.
T: If we want to describe a person whose hair is short and straight, how can we say We can say she has short and straight hair. Can we say she has straight long short hair
Ss:No.
T: Let’s describe their hair by using two adjective words. Her hair is long and her hair is curly. So we can say she has long curly hair. So if we want to describe ones hair, we should pay attention to the order of adjective . We should put long or short before curly or straight .
T: Look at these two people. What similarities between them

Step 2 practice
T: Now let’s practice. We want to ask someone’s appearance, we can use the sentence. What does he look like Now, I ask, you answer.

T: We learned how to describe someone’s looks just now. Now let’s do a summary.
(The purpose of my desire:let Ss master how to describe people’s looks by using the mind-map. At the same time, let Ss know the adjectives of each part directly.)
Step 4 Game time
T: Let’s play a game first. I want to ask one student to come to the front to do the first three questions. And the other students do the last three questions. You need to put is or has into the correct blanks. T: Let’s do another game. This time I will ask two students to come to the front at the same time.,and they will have a competition.
(The purpose of my desire:let Ss master the usage of “is” and “has”and master which adjectives can match “be” through games, which can make the important languages points and difficult points become easy and interesting.)
