教学重点 1. 掌握短语动词的构成和用法 2. 动词不定式在英语句子中的成分与作用 3. 指导学生阅读课文，培养学生的阅读理解能力。
教学难点 动词不定式在英语句子中的成分与作用以及不同动词短语的含义与搭配。
教学准备 图片、多媒体等。
教 学 过 程 Step 1 Warming up and revision Show the pictures about some volunteer activities to review the expression about helping others. . Example: T: What could we do to help the people in an old people’s home S: We could tell stories to them and make their bed. Step 2 Pre-reading 1. Learn the new words: several，strong，feeling，satisfaction，joy，owner，journey，raise，midnight 2. Show students the title and the picture of 3a, let students discuss and answer the following questions. 1) What are the name of the volunteer in 3a 2) Where are they 3) Are the volunteer young or old How do you know 3. Students share their answers. 【设计意图】标题，图片易于激活学生脑海中的图式，从而对正确理解所读内容形成帮助，训练学生通过图片和标题快速抓住文章大意。 Step 3 While reading 1. Students read the passage quickly to check whether their guess about the questions above is right, and answer the question in 3a. Check the answers: Mario: AT an animal hospital; Mary: At an after-school reading program. 2. Read 3a carefully to finish the following chart. Explain the usages of “动词不定式” a. 构成：to +动词原形　否定式：not to +动词原形 b. 用法：动词不定式是一种非谓语动词形式，在句中可以充当宾语、宾语补足语、状语、主语以及定语等。 　　（1）作动词宾语，常见动词有want，help，learn，try，remember，hope，decide，volunteer等。 　　I hope to be a doctor. 　　He’ll learn to play the piano next year.. 　　（2）作宾语补足语，常见动词有ask，tell，want，order等。 　　The doctor told him to take medicine twice a day. 　　（3）作状语，表示目的、原因、结果等。 　　We are working hard to live a better life. 　　（4）作主语。为避免句子头重脚轻，常用it作形式主语，而真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。 　　常用句型：It + be + adj. +（for/of sb.）to do sth. 　　（5）作定语。 　　Jack made a great plan to make a lot of money. 　　注意：（1）动词help后既可跟带to的动词不定式，也可跟省略to的动词不定式。 　　（2）在使役动词make，have，let和感官动词see，watch，hear等后接不带to的动词不定式作宾语补足语 3. Students finish 4a and check the answers. 【Answers】1. put off　2. call up　3. come up with，cheer up 4. put up，hand out；give out 3. Finish 4b and check the answers: 【Answers】to make；to do；to help；to spend；to visit；to move 4. Discuss in groups and list some activities that maybe happen according to the situation in 4c. Then finish 4c and check the answers.
