Talking about my lesson
Introduce: Good afternoon , everyone ! It’s my great pleasure to come here and present my lesson today .Now, I’m going to talk about my plan for teaching Module 9 Unit 1 of Book 4 <>
I. About teaching material
It’s very important for children to learn how to ask the way when they are lost,and tell the way when the others are lost.So today I will teach the children this knowledge. During the past few modules’ learning, they have learnt imperative sentences.This class,I’ll continue to teach this knowledge.
II. About students
Students in Grade two are lovely, active and with lots of curiosities. So I must catch the characters of children’s psychology, to encourage them to be brave and to make them listen carefully and speak actively.
III. About teaching aims
On the basis of teaching content and the age of the students, I’m going to set the following aims:
1.Knowledge objects :To enable the students to make sure that they can read and remember the new vocabularies: “left、 right、go straight on、 Excuse me、 West Lake Road、 East Lake Road. ” Grasp the target languages “Turn left!,Turn right!, Go straight on!”and make the students use the languages to have conversations.
2.Ability objects : To develop students’ abilities of listening and speaking. To train the students’ abilities of conversations.
3.Emotion objects: To make students pay close attention to daily life,and make them be helpful.
IV .Main points
1. The pronunciation of the new vocabularies.
2. Use the target languages properly.
3. Understand the dialogue and know how to ask the way and tell the way properly.
V. Difficult points:
1.New vocabularies.
2. Ask the way and tell the way.
VI.Teaching aids:
CAI, tape recorder, some cards
VII. Teaching methods
Task-based teaching method;
Audio-visual teaching method;
Presentation teaching method
VIII.Teaching steps
Next, I’ll talk about my teaching steps for you here.
Step 1. Warm-up
I’ll begin with a activity of listening and doing.In order to review the imperative sentences .To review the pronunciation and the usage of the word“turn”.
Step 2.Presentation
Tell the students“You’re great and helpful.Today,let’s help Sam.Sam is going to Daming’s flat,but he’s lost.What happened Let’s see.”(In this part,I will make the situation.In order to let students know the learning task.)
Step 3 Text teaching
1.Let students perceive the whole text.Look at the big screen and listen carefully with the question:Where is Daming’s flat
The students will watch and listen then report. Teach the new word--West Lake Road.
2.Listen to the tape ,and find how the police described the route.Teach the new phrase“Excuse me. ”
3.Teach the new words “left,right,go straight on”I will use the graphics method,gesticulation method and action method to teach these vocabularies.
4.Teach the word “East Lake Road”
5.Read the text.First,Listen and repeat. Then read after the teacher.At last,practise to read.
6. Ask the students to help Sam. Tell the way to East Lake Road.
(The main points of this part are target languages. I will finish them by using task based teaching method and audio-visual teaching method. Report and practise to read can improve their reading and speaking abilities.)
Step 4 Consolidation
1.Activity Book.Listen and draw.
2.Play a game.(Help Xiaohuihui)
(Games can arouse children’s interests of learning,and this game can train children’s speaking ability. The activities in the Activity Book can steady the target languages.)
Step 5 Summary and homework
1.What have we learnt today At last let student read the target sentences on the blackboard again.
2.Copy the words.Listen and read the dialogue. Draw a route from your home to school and talk about it with your classmates.
