2.(2024届河北省名校联盟高三下学期三模英语试题)If you were wondering whether there were any quiet, peaceful, undeveloped beaches left in Mykonos, you have found it. Featuring a wild landscape on a rocky bay in the northern part of the island, Fokos Beach is one of Mykonos’ “hidden beaches”, free of crowds. It’s faced by a taverna (小餐馆), but is usually nearly deserted, with only a few sunbathers. This is the top destination for those looking for a peaceful beach and natural beauty.
There are better beaches for swimming — here the sea can be quite rough and it’s often windy. It is, however, a popular spot for riding, so don’t be surprised if you see horses coming down the road towards the beach.
How to Get to Fokos Beach
There are no buses to Fokos, so you’ll need to rent a car. It’s about 13km and a 20-minute drive from Mykonos Town, partly through a dirt road before you reach the beach.
Where to stay in Fokos Beach
There are no hotels in Fokos, but it’s close enough to the many choices in the center of the island:
·Hotel Adonis: Just a short walk from the Fabrika bus terminal (终点站), with different types of classically-styled rooms.
·Leto Hotel: Facing the sea in the old port, with spacious rooms and an open-air restaurant.
·Mykonos Theoxenia Boutique Hotel: Next to the windmills, with a wonderful garden and pool area.
·Mykonos Town Suites: A combination of traditional Cycladic style and contemporary design, with apartments where you can prepare your meals.
4.What do we know about Fokos beach
A.It’s accessible by bus.
B.It’s off the beaten track.
C.It’s famous for local snacks.
D.It’s too rocky for sunbathing.
5.What is a favored activity on Fokos Beach
A.Swimming. B.Surfing.
C.Horse riding. D.Mountain climbing.
6.Which hotel best suits a guest passionate about cooking
A.Hotel Adonis.
B.Leto Hotel.
C.Mykonos Theoxenia Boutique Hotel.
D.Mykonos Town Suites.

9.(2024届山东省济宁市高三三模试题)& Juliet Musical on Broadway
She’s stronger than yesterday! Following a successful three-year run in London’s West End, the pop musical Juliet is now on Broadway with nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
What is & Juliet about
It kicks off nearly where Romeo & Juliet left off: right before Juliet’s death. This isn’t a retelling of Shakespeare’s tragedy, though. It’s a whole new story in which Juliet decides losing Romeo doesn’t mean she should die. Instead, she goes on a journey of self-discovery to Paris. Accompanied by her friends, including some characters from the original play, like the nurse, as well as new characters, like her friends Francois and May, she goes to parties, makes new friends, and sees what the world has to offer beyond the walls of Verona.
What songs are in & Juliet
You may listen to top 40 radio, but you’ve never heard your favorite songs like this. & Juliet has one new song, but the show mostly includes existing popular music. All 30 pop songs in & Juliet were written or co-written by Max Martin, who’s behind the hits of stars like Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and The Backstreet Boys. Anyone who grew up with, or just knows all the words to, hits from the 90s through today will relive their teenage dreams at this show.
More information about & Juliet
Since having its world premiere (首映) in 2019 in London’s West End, & Juliet made its North American debut in Toronto and also its Australian premiere in Melbourne in February 2023.

10.(2024届河南省名校联盟考前模拟大联考三模试题)Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise hits Disney’s streaming service alongside its arrival at cinemas. As such, you’ll have to pay $30 on top of your subscription fee to see it — a high price for a solo viewing, but a great deal for a family session. That’s good news, because this really is a winner of a family movie, thanks to the production values you’d come to expect from a Disney blockbuster (大片) and the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
Inside Out
Just when we thought Pixar was on the decline, it released Inside Out, one of its most thoughtful and powerful movies. Featuring the voices of Amy Poehler, Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling, Inside Out made over $850 million at the box office upon its 2015 release. It wasn’t just a commercial success, as it scored 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Free Solo
Free Solo is one of the best documentaries ever made. Telling the story of Alex Honnold, the first man to “free solo” El Capitan, it’s a character study of a man who makes the impossible look almost ordinary; an Oscar-winning story that culminates (到达极点) — quite literally — in a close-up view of one of humanity’s wildest achievements.
Aladdin
You can agree or you can disagree, but I believe that Aladdin has the best song lineup of any animated movie that Disney has ever produced. A Whole New World, Prince Ali, Friend Like Me, Arabian Nights — banger after banger (一部接一部). That’s reflected in the critical response: Aladdin is one of the best-rated Disney movies ever, with a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
28.What do we know about the movie Jungle Cruise
A.It takes a total of $30 to see it.
B.It doesn’t require a subscription.
C.It is mainly intended for children.
D.It stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
29.What makes Aladdin stand out among the movies above
A.Its music. B.Its voice actors.

C.Its approval rating. D.Its dialogues.
