1. 原因状语从句
从句表示的是主句行为的原因，就构成原因状语从句。一般由because引导，有时since也可以用来表示原因。
He failed the exam because he was too careless.
因为他太粗心了，所以没通过考试。
Since you have known the whole accident, I needn’t tell you anything about it.
既然你已经知道了整个事故的经过，我就不需要再告诉你有关它的任何事情了。
2. 结果状语从句
表示“由于某个原因，所以才做到某件事情”，即：主句表示原因，从句表示该原因产生的结果。通常由so引导。
He worked too hard, so he fell ill again.
他工作太努力了，所以他又病倒了。
3. 目的状语从句
如果从句表示的是主句行为的目的，该从句就是目的状语从句。一般由so that 引导。
I got up early so that I could catch the early bus.
我早起是为了赶上早班车。
目的状语从句有一个特点：由于目的是将来可能会实现的，所以从句中一般用表示未来可能性的词语，如could， will，can，would等。
