A
Different vitamins are found in different foods. Then which foods should be eaten to keep us healthy Let's look at some important vitamins for the answer.
Vitamin A helps to protect skin from becoming dry. It is also helpful to eyes. Without vitamin A, you cannot see well in darkness. Vitamin A is found in animal liver and the yellow part of eggs. Sweet potatoes, carrots and other dark-coloured fruit and vegetables have something that the body can change into vitamin A.
Vitamin B changes foods into energy and helps the heart and nervous system(神经系统) to work smoothly. Vitamin B also helps to produce red blood cells. Without it, we will be weak and will not grow. It is found in grains and other foods like nuts, eggs, meat, fish, milk and green leafy vegetables.
Vitamin C is needed for strong bones and teeth, and for healthy blood vessels(血管). It also helps wounds to heal(愈合)quickly. The body stores little vitamin C, so we must get it from foods like orange and cabbage.
Vitamin D controls the level of calcium in the blood. Calcium is needed for verve(精力) and muscle(肌肉) cells to work normally, as well as to build strong bones. Fish liver oil is rich in vitamin D. In some countries, milk producers add vitamin D to milk so that it will be good for children.

Lots of kids don't have perfect teeth, so don't worry if yours aren't straight. You might just need to see an orthodontist (正牙医生) who will tell you if you need braces(牙箍).
  Types of braces
Metal(金属的) braces are still used, but you might get braces that are the same color as your teeth instead. There are even braces that go behind your teeth where no one can see them. The wires (金属线) used in braces today are also smaller, and they can straighten your teeth faster and more easily.
   ▲
Braces straighten teeth by putting pressure (压力) on your teeth over a period of time. The wires on your braces help to move your teeth, and the rubber bands (橡皮筋) help to correct the way your teeth line up. People wear braces for different lengths (长度) of time, but for most people it's usually about two years.
  Life with braces
Braces act like magnets (磁体) for food, so you need to keep your teeth clean. You'll have to stay away from some foods that are problems for braces, such as popcorn and candy. Sugary sodas (苏打水) and juice can cause a problem too, because the sugar stays on your teeth and may cause tooth decay (蛀牙). Be sure to brush your teeth after meals.

①If you like to go to bed and get up later—a sleep type known as being a night owl(夜猫子) — you may be at higher risk of type 2 diabetes(糖尿病)and heart disease,a new study found.
②In a study published on Monday in Experimental Physiology, scientists from Rutgers University divided 51 people into morning or evening types based on their sleeping habits.During the study, these people ate the same food while their activities were monitored(监测)for a week.
③To compare the two types, the research team measured each person's weight, health level and levels of insulin(胰岛素). In addition, researchers tried to find out where each person gets the energy they need.
④The result shows evening types usually have worse living habits than early birds. Night owls usually move less, have lower health levels and burn less fat.Besides, they smoke and drink more, and they are more likely to start working without eating breakfast and eat more in the day.
⑤Because of their bad living habits, evening types have higher body fat in the stomach, which is believed to be worse for health. And they need more insulin to provide the energy they need every day.
⑥Steven Malin, an associate professor at Rutgers University, points out that sleep type can make a difference to students' school performance, social ability and living habits.Early birds are more likely to perform better in school, and are more active during the day. Therefore, he suggests that everyone should develop a healthy sleeping habit before it's too late.

D(2023·广东深圳宝安区期中)
"I wish I had straight hair." "I'd like to be taller." At times, we all want to look a bit more like someone else. However, the pictures we see on TV and social media can give us improper ideas about how our bodies "should" look. The truth is that everybody is different — and that's a good thing. Accepting and feeling good about our bodies is really important for our self-confidence.
Body confidence is when someone accepts and behaves kindly towards their body. That includes our size and shape, skin color, appearance and any physical disabilities. Jade Parnell from the Centre for Appearance Research(CAR),says that having body confidence is "about being accepting of your body and what it does for you".
If you feel positive about your body, you are more likely to take care of it. Research has even shown that you are more likely to take part in activities and perform well in school. However, feeling agitated about your body could make you step back, do less well at school and even feel down. Parnell says that the cost of trying to achieve the "perfect" appearance is high. She says, "If you're spending a lot of time trying to look a certain way, you will have less time to spend with friends and to make important memories."
It's important to remember that everybody is different. To develop a positive body image, Parnell says, "Try to talk positively about your own body and other people's bodies. Try not to pay too much attention to appearance. Instead, think about what your body does for you.Do your legs make you run really fast "She also suggests treating your body well by eating different kinds of foods, exercising to feel good and to have fun, and getting plenty of sleep.
Remember that you are more than how you look.

B.Having body confidence helps do a better job at activities in school.
C. If you are positive about your body, you will accept it and never take care of it.
D. Trying to look a certain way costs a lot of money.
( )63.What does the underlined word "agitated" probably mean
A. Scared. B. Serious.
C. Careless. D. Worried.
( )64.Which of the following statements will Parnell probably agree

( )65.What can we learn from the passage

One of my friends,Lin Fei,followed short workout(训练)videos to exercise daily. "With live programs, I feel like working out with my friends, which encourages me to hold on to the last minute,"she said. Another friend of mine, Michael, told me that he used to be in the gym, but now workout videos let him feel so comfortable, because he doesn't like being watched by others. Working out at home makes working out much more enjoyable.
With their examples,I decided to give it a try. When I told my plan to my elder sister, a P.E. teacher, she reminded me that workout videos could be helpful but might still carry some problems. "Without being with someone in person, you will be less willing to work out to your best. Working out at the gym allows you to have advice in real time and get pushed harder,"my sister said to me."Well, if you really want to have a try, first, choose proper programs or videos. That's very important. And then ask your friends for advice. Their experiences can give you a good sight into what you can expect. Anyway, you should try different ways to work out to be healthy."
At her suggestions, I followed an online workout program with personalized(个人化的) help that is held for three months. After the first period of training, I felt it very helpful when I put in the right amount of work along with a strong pared with going to the gym, using online videos to work out is a much cheaper and time-saving choice. One possible version:
Hello, boys and girls,
As the saying goes, "Eyes are the window to the soul." However,70% of us have poor eyesight. The main reason is the bad habits of using eyes. For example, many of us read in wrong positions. Besides, some of us spend too much time playing computer games or watching TV. Here is some advice on how to protect our eyes.
First, we should use our eyes in a proper way. While reading, we should sit straight and keep the book about a foot away from us. And after reading for an hour or two, we had better have a rest. Second, using fewer electronic products is a good way to protect our eyes. Finally, remember to do eye-protecting exercises or do more outdoor sports, which will help us keep good eyesight.
These are my opinions! Do you agree with me
