状语从句(1):时间状语从句
【语法感悟】
用when/while/before/after/since/as soon as填空
1.While we’re staying with our friends, we’re going to spend one day in Qingdao.
2.Before we begin dinner, my father gives thanks for the food.
3.When it is all over, everyone helps wash the dishes.
4.And my family always go somewhere interesting as soon as the holiday begins.
5.We have celebrated the festival since the first pioneers from England arrived in America.
6.After they landed, their first winter was worse than any English winter.
【语法解读】
常见引导时间状语从句的连词
连　词 用　法
when 表示“当……时候”,主句的动作和从句的动作可以同时发生,也可以先后发生,谓语动词可以是延续性动词,也可以是非延续性动词
while 表示“当……时候”,强调主句和从句的动作同时发生,从句的谓语动词必须是延续性动词
before 表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之前
after 表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之后
since 表示“自从……以来”,从句中的动词一般表示动作的起点,用一般过去时;主句中的动词表示动作延续的情况,一般用现在完成时。如果主句中的动词表示的不是延续的动作而是表示目前的状态,可用一般现在时
until ①表示“直到……为止”,主句谓语动词是延续性动词时,主句和从句都用肯定式; ②表示“直到……才”,主句谓语动词是非延续性动词时,主句用否定式,从句用肯定式
as soon as 表示“一……就……”,指从句的动作一发生,主句的动作随即发生,强调动作紧密相连
【辨析】when和while的用法辨析
“主短从长” 主句的谓语是短暂性动词,而从句是一个持续性动作,二者均可
“主长从长” 主句和从句为两个同时进行的持续性动作或存在的状态,用while引导从句
“主长从短” 主句是一个持续性动作,而从句是一个短暂性动作,用when引导从句
