一、Teaching objectives:
1. Ss are able to comprehend and use the greetings and farewells;
What do they want ? They want (a computer game) .
Does he/she want (a guitar) ? No, he/she doesn’t.
Do you want (a guitar) ? Yes, please.

Period1
一、Teaching contents:
1. Vocabulary.
2. Target.

4. Practice 1.
二、Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Warm-up and review.
1. Greeting.
2. Sing the song: Do you like baseball?
3.Review the sentences: Do you….? Do you like cakes/noodles/apples…?
S: Yes, I do. /No, I don’t.
Step 2 Presentation
Lead-in:Show the picture card of a boss on the head and say: I am a boss. Do you want to be a boss? Ok, let’s work hard to be a boss, a toy boss. Wow, a toy shop. Do you want the toys? Yeah, today is a happy day .We must pass 3 barriers and get a free toy ticket to get our favorite toy.
Barrier1:
1. Visit the toy shop and ask: What do you want? Show the picture of a computer game, make the sound and say: Do you want a computer game? Let the Ss do the action. Let the Ss repeat the word computer game one by one, then read the sentence. Make sure they can read it correctly. Learn the new words in the same way.
-Teach the word computer game (两手伸出一手指,表示按键状)
-Teach the word puzzle(手指交叉做拼图状)and teach Do they like …?
-Teach the word doll(两手抱洋娃娃的样子)
-To teach the other words at the same method with the actions.(两手做扶滑板动作教skateboard;握方向盘状教toy car.;弹吉他状教guitar;拿衣服状教stuffed animal,拍打样教drum.)
2. Play two guessing games.
Divide the whole class into eight groups to have a competition. Let them guess: What’s this? By this game, we can consolidate the words we’ve learnt just now.
Then put the toy picture cards in a bag, ask a student to choose one present, other Ss are not allowed to see the present, they just can guess by asking: Do you want a …? There is an information-gap here. In this way, Ss can practice the pattern in real situation.
3. Chant : Have Ss chant the words together as a gift for going through the barrier .
4. Read the words together and learn the drills.

2.Exchange the favorite toy (看谁换的礼物多)
Have students fill in the free toy ticket, ask one of the winners to put the toys in a toy shop, other students to change their favorite present, the boss can ask: Hello. What’s your name? Do you want a …? There is an information-gap here. In this way, Ss can practice the pattern in real situation.
Boss: Hello,can I help you?
Customer: Hello. I’m… (名字)。
Boss:: Do you want a…?
Customer: Yes, I do. (No,I don’t.老师还可以帮助学生再用What do you want?问答)。
Boss:: Your free ticket, please.

二、Teaching procedure:
Step I. Warm-up
1. Greeting.
2. T: Today is Gogo’s birthday. He is very happy. Let’s sing the birthday song for Gogo.
Get the Ss sing the song with claps: Happy Birthday to You
Step II. Pre-reading
1. Set a situation:
The boy and the girl ask Gogo: What do you want for your birthday, Gogo?
Gogo: I want some toys.
2. Teacher shows CAI, show the pictures of the toys with sounds, get the students to read the words after computer.
3. Set a situation:
Gogo: Let’s go to the toy shop.
The boy and the girl: OK! Let’s go!
Teacher shows CAI, they go to Free Toy Shop.
4. Show some toys, revise the words.
5. Activity: Shop for toys
Practice the sentences:
(1) T: What’s this?
Ss: It’s a doll. (…)
T: Do you want a ….?
S1: Yes, I do. No, I don’t.
(2) T: What do you want?
S2: I want a….
T: Here you are.
S2: Thank you.
T: Does heshe want a ….?
Ss: Yes, heshe does. No, heshe doesn’t.

6.Lead in the conversation.
Think of: What does Gogo want in the dialogue?
Ss remember the question and think beforehand.
Step III. While-reading
1. Play the conversation.
2. Check the answer of the question: What does Gogo want in the dialogue?
3. Reading practice
(1) Listen to the computer and repeat.
(2) T: OK. Please read the conversation after me. Do after me! Read the conversation with actions.
(3) Let the Ss practice the dialogue in groups.
T: Now, it’s your turn. Please practice the conversation with your partners in groups of four.
4. Answer 3 questions: (Show the pictures of the conversation)

5. Act out the dialogue.
(1) Show a model, Ss watch the video silently.
(2) Ss act the conversation after teacher, while doing the action.
(3) Ss practice acting the conversation in groups.
(4) Ss act out the dialogue in roles, using the toys.
Step IV. Post-reading
1. Activity:
Let’s talk: What do you want for your birthday? (Show some pictures) I want a ….
2. Show the passage with blanks and talk about what Gogo wants. Give an example:
Hello, I am Gogo . On my birthday, I want a cake , a doll
and a computer game . I am happy!
3. Fill in the blanks according to oneself. Get the students to talk about what they want for their birthdays.
4. Do Activity 2 (P48).
Set a situation:
T: Many people come to the toy shop, too. They want to buy some birthday gifts. What do they want for their birthday? (Make a model.)
Get the students to talk about the pictures. Then finish the exercise. (If time is limited, this is for homework.)
V. Summary
T: What do we learn today?
Ss go over the sentences they learnt today.
VI. Homework:
1.Ss read up the conversation and act out it; they finish the exercise.
2.Act out the conversation for your families.

一、Teaching contents:
(1)掌握语音 /ei/ 的发音和在单词中的拼读。
(2)了解更多有关字母a在单词中的读音。
(3)从听、说、读、写四个方面来巩固/ei/的发音。
二、Teaching procedure:
Step1 Warming up (3 mins)
1. Free talk.
T: What day is it today? (….) Are you happy ? (….)
2. Classroom organization
T: Do you like to sing? Let’s sing: What’s your name ?
Step2 Presentations (19 mins)
1. Repeat the words: cat, bag ,apple. Teach Ss the pronunciation of name and write “a” on the blackboard; teach the Ss the sound of /ei/, show the sound of /ei/, and then drill it one by one.
2. Show out a dice and play a game with Ss and teach: game
3. Sing a birthday song and show a cake ,then teach cakes learn the new word “cake”. Ask Ss :Do you want a cake? Write “cake” on the blackboard, drill it with actions and consolidate /ei/.
4. Show a plate and a picture of a plate to teach the words of “plate”, “plane”, Write the words “plate” and “plane” on the blackboard to enable the students read the words and consolidate /ei/.
5. Show out some fruit to say the word “grape” and learn the phrase “grape”. Write “grape” on the blackboard and consolidate /ei/.
6.Go over the words and get Ss say out some other words with /ei/.
Step3 Games (2 mins)
T flashes the pictures, using PowerPoint; Ss read out the words as soon as they can. The fastest group wins the game.
Step4 Chant activities (4 mins)
Sing the song Happy New Year, and then use the words to rewrite a new chant. After the Ss can chant it, add actions while chanting.
Step5 Do a puzzle (4 mins)
Ss finish the puzzle taken from the writing book of Unit 6, and then T checks the answers.
Step6 Listen activity (2 mins)
Ss do the listening activity on the book.
Step7 Look and write (4mins)
Ss look at the pictures and fill in the blank.
Step8 Summary (1 mins)
Have Ss to think and answer the question, and have them to find out more words with /ei/.
T: What have you learnt in this lesson?
Step8 Homework (1 min)
1. Find more words which contain the sound of /ei/. (找出更多带有/ei/ 的单词。)
2. Act out the chant of Sounds and words section to your parents.(跟父母分享chant。)
