Hello, my name is Alice. I’m a student of Grade 7 and I like reading books. Today is Saturday. I go to the bookshop and buy a book called The Great Blue Yonder (《天蓝色的彼岸》). I just finish reading it and let me tell you what it is about.
In the book, when Harry has a fight with his sister Eggy, he says, “You’ll be sorry after I die (死)!” Several minutes later, Harry really dies. He has to go to a place called the Great Blue Yonder. Harry is regretful. He still has many things to do and he doesn’t want to die.
Then Harry meets a boy named Arthur. With his help, Harry goes back to his world again. He sees his teachers and classmates at school first. Later, Harry goes back home. (22-23七年级下·江苏无锡·期末)Every dog should learn the command (命令) “no”. When the dog hears “no”, she should stop doing what she is doing before she hurts (伤害) herself, hurts you or someone else, or breaks things. Sometimes giving the command with body languages (语言) is useful. The command will help your dog learn a little self-control (自控). Here are some things that you can do.
1. Show your dog the behavior To teach the dog “no”, begin by showing her the behavior (行为) you want her to know. For example, show her a treat in your hand, and then say “no” before closing your fist (拳头) around the treat. Let her smell at your hand, but don’t give her the treat. If she stops trying and turns away, give her a treat from your other hand.
2. Have patience You can do the exercise ten times or even more before your dog understands that she gets the treat by leaving your closed hand alone. Stay patient enough with her, and always give a good treat if she can do it well.
3. ______________ Your dog will understand you by watching what you are doing. So, watch your body language. Stand tall and give the command in a strong voice, but don’t try to make her angry. You want her to understand and follow the command, not to make her afraid.
4. Teach your dog to follow the command with the treat on the floor “No” is easier when your dog can’t reach the treat anyway (when it’s in your fist). (22-23七年级下·浙江杭州·期末)When people think of house cats, some words come out: “cute,” “slow,” “lovely” and so on. Do you know that humans (人类) have kept cats as pets for over 9,000 years
Without any facts, we can only guess at how humans and cats were together at first. Most people believe that cats were one of the last animals to be tamed (被驯化) and kept as pets in early Middle East. They were tamed after other animals like cows, dogs, pigs, and sheep because cats couldn’t make delicious milk or help humans carry any things.
There are some things that cats can do well in, like getting mice, one of their favorite foods, and some other vermin that destroys (毁坏) the plants and is bad for humans. Some scientists said that this might be how cats and humans became friends. When early humans began farming for food, their food stores were a great place for hungry mice. Wild (野外的) cats weren’t going to let them run away, so they followed the mice into human villages. As time went on, cats could live with humans well. Finally, the wild cat of 9,000 years ago became the house cat of today.
Unlike dogs, cats could leave their human owners and go back to the wild at any time. They don’t lose their natural abilities (能力): their perfect seeing at night and hearing, their sense of smell and so on. House cats can also get their own food. Some people may even wake up to see little “gifts” from their cat, like dead birds or mice.
This kind of thing doesn’t make us angry too much, because there are now more than 600 million cats living in homes around the world.
105.Why do most people think cats were the last to be tamed

When the weather is not good, sea birds will stay on the shore (海岸). They don’t like to fly in the strong wind. They may stay in a tree when a heavy rain is coming. But when they see sea birds flying high in the sky, they know it will be a sunny day.
When the rain is on the way, the ants will move their houses from the low places to the high places, because they are afraid the rain will submerge their homes.
When it’s going to rain, the frogs will stay in the water and make big noise with “croak, croak”. But if it is a fine day, the frogs will be out of the water and make big noise.

(22-23七年级下·广东广州·期末)All around the world, there are small changes taking place. At the side of roads, behind school playgrounds and on all kinds of unloved pieces of land across towns and cities, tiny forests barely the size of tennis courts are appearing, making a great place for both wildlife and local people who may not normally have easy access to nature. This is the Tiny Forest movement, which aims to prove that the best things in life really do come in small packages.
Tiny forests were first mentioned as a concept in the 1970s by Dr Miyawaki, a Japanese botanist. As he went on to share his concept with others, the idea soon took off in India and other countries before eventually reaching Europe, where it became popular in places like France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
So how does it work Louise Hartley, who is leading the Tiny Forest project in the UK, explains that the process begins by identifying areas in which a tiny forest could have the biggest influence. “We focus on urban areas where access to nature is often not that easy”, says Hartley. “We see it as a chance to try to break the growing disconnect between people and nature.”
In a Tiny Forest, there must be a minimum of 600 trees, and the trees are planted much closer together and without chemicals or fertilisers (肥料). There are usually around 30 different kinds of all-native tree species. This variety, coupled with the fact that tiny forests grow up to ten times faster than standard forests, means they attract a rich abundance of wildlife. It’s also thought that these places could help reduce the risk of flooding, remove carbon from the atmosphere and fight climate change, as well as improving the mental health of those living locally.
126.What do we know about the Tiny Forest movement
A.It has gained notable success. B.It is led by number of schools.
C.It began in Europe in the 1970s. D.It will spread to the countryside.
127.Which of the following best explains “take off” underlined in paragraph 2
A.Go away very quickly B.Take a rest quietly.
C.Spread out widely D.Become unpopular slowly.
128.What is the purpose of the project led by Hartley in the UK
A.To promote eco-tourism. B.To improve forestry research.
C.To popularise gardening. D.To get people close to nature.
129.What is special about the trees in a Tiny Forest
A.They are small in size. B.They are thickly planted.
C.They are foreign species. D.They are heavily fertilised.
