"Get up, get up, Jim. It's time to get up!" my mother said while she was pushing me. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock. "Oh, dear! It's a quarter past eight already." I was afraid that I might be late for school so I jumped out of bed quickly, washed my face, and then hurried to the bus stop without breakfast. As soon as I got on the bus, it started raining. "I'm sure I can get to school on time,"I said to myself. Suddenly the bus stopped. The bus driver got off the bus, then got on the bus again and said, "I am sorry, ladies and gentlemen. There is something wrong with the bus. Please get off and wait for another one." "I couldn't wait. The school isn't far. I'd better run to the school," I thought, and then I began to run. But before I got there, it began to rain hard.
I reached the classroom but I was shivering(颤抖) with cold. The physics teacher had already begun his lesson. He was Mr. Smith. He was about fifty years old. All the students were a little afraid of him and I was, too. I liked neither him nor his lessons. I hesitated(犹豫) for a moment, and then I opened the door. "Now take off your wet coat and put this one on, or you will catch a cold," he said kindly.

B(2022·北京门头沟区一模)
Although you can make choices and plans for life, no one can ever be prepared for the unexpected. When these unexpected situations add up, it's easy to become overly worried and feel as if your life is out of control. This is why we often try to find control whenever we can.
Feeling as if your life is out of control comes from the anxiety that you don't know what you really want and what will happen to you. People have no idea when bad luck may visit and how long it may last, so it produces feelings like sadness, disappointment, and anger. Some of the below steps may be useful when life starts to feel out of control.
Pause(暂停)and Take a Break
It is important to take a break every now and then. It is perfectly OK to take some time to yourself. Think over, relax, and practice self-care.
Take Control of Things You Can Change
Even though people may not have control of everything in their lives, they do still have control of some things. Work on changing the things in life that you do have control over, like going to the gym a bit more, eating fewer sweets, or staying away from a bad person. Even if it is a little thing, it can help in establishing a sense of control and optimism (乐观主义)in your life.
Be Confident in Your Life Decisions
Sometimes life can feel out of control when you keep worrying and wondering if you are making the right choices in life. With the things you do have control over, perhaps you want to make sure you get them just right, almost perfect — but nothing will ever be perfect. Take pride in what you created for your life and, if you made a few bad decisions, learn from them and move forward. These mistakes may have helped develop personal growth and wisdom.
Pick Up a Hobby
Hobbies are a great way to take your mind off things you can't change. Whether it be going for a daily walk, or writing down a few sentences in your diary, hobbies may help you to feel a bit of an escape from life's challenges.
( )35.People feel their life is out of control when .

B. To make sure you will correct the mistakes.

D. To tell us to learn from our mistakes and keep on.
( )38.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage

One possible version:
Dear Mary,
How's it going I want to tell you an unexpected thing that has happened to me recently.
Unexpected things may happen to everyone — they can make people happy or sad. For me, an unexpected thing about a card makes me feel happy. Two weeks ago, I went out with my friend, Nancy. We made a card by hand. I liked the card very much, but when I saw Nancy didn't move her fingers away from it, I decided to give the card to her. However, yesterday I found the card in my book with the words "I appreciate the friendship you give me more than the card. Keep it as a symbol of our friendship."
I was really moved and happy because of the card and Nancy.
Best wishes! Yours,
Li Hua

There was a new film in the theatre. Jack and I both wanted to watch it, so we went to the theatre together last Sunday. We met at my house and Jack drove us there. When we got out of the car, it began to rain. I forgot to bring my umbrella so we tried to run to the theatre from the car park. Luckily, the film itself was interesting. The actors and actresses were great. We planned to watch for two hours, but in fact we stayed there for one more hour. After leaving the theatre, we found the car couldn't start. We had to walk home. When I got home, it was late and I was very tired. What a crazy day it was!

Do you believe there are aliens Last weekend, my old grandpa told me an amazing experience of his. On a cold morning in 1987, he got up and walked down the street as usual. At that time, he saw a UFO land right in front of a tall building. Then an alien came out and walked into the building. He took away everything in the hall of the building. When he was walking to the UFO with the things, he saw my grandpa. He stopped and took a photo of my grandpa with his camera. My grandpa was so surprised when he saw the UFO close the door and fly away! Unbelievable, right In fact, it is a dream of my grandpa.
