[热点素材|社交恐惧症]The term "social phobia(社交恐惧症) " is popular recently. Young people are describing themselves as having a social phobia. They prefer not to go out much, saying that it's hard for them to make new friends. But is this a "real" disorder(病症)
In fact, this is just a reaction(反应) to some social situation. US researcher Tashiro wrote the book Awkward. He explains that these young people don't "read" social situations correctly and therefore end up feeling uncomfortable. For example, they might be afraid of breaking some unspoken rules. So they prefer to stay at home instead of going out to meet new people. But this doesn't mean they have a social phobia.
A real social phobia is also called social anxiety(焦虑). People with social anxiety want to go out and communicate with people, but they are so scared that they cannot leave their homes. Their brains simply won't allow them to interact with others in a normal way. People with the disorder can ever experience a panic attack(惊恐发作).
Luckily, there are some ways to treat social anxiety. Some people use self-help books to help them control over their minds.Therapy(治疗)can also help.

( )31.What does the text try to explain
A. How to improve our social skills.
B. Why people often feel anxious.
C. What a real social phobia is like.
D. How a social phobia affects everyone.
C
"I don't like my parents. They always tell me I should do this, and should not do that. It sometimes makes me angry," said Zhang Hua, a middle school student in Guangzhou. Do you have the same problem Perhaps your parents had the same problem when they were your age long ago. Why does it seem that some parents are not so friendly in their children's eyes
One of the biggest problems is when someone becomes a parent, he/she likes worrying too much about things. They worry about everything about you from the time you were born. They do a lot for you. Though sometimes they make you angry, that's because they care about you and worry about you. They worry about your choice of friends, food you eat, your work at school, how much sleep you get, etc. All these things are part of your life. They want you to grow up healthily and happily.
So how can you make things easier on yourself It's easier than you think. Just make sure your parents know what you're doing. Get them to know your friends. Phone them if you stay somewhere else late so that your parents don't call every hospital in the phone book to look for you. Say sorry to them when you make mistakes. Take responsibility(责任) for what you have done. Talk about your ideas with them. They may talk about theirs with you.
Most of all, try to think about why your parents do this or do that. They are still practicing being parents and need your help. Some day, when you become a parent, they may be able to help you know how to get on with your children.
( )32.Why do some parents seem to be unfriendly in their children's eyes
A. Because they worry too much about their children.

D(2023·江苏省盐城市盐都区期中改编)
[热点素材|身体自信]"I wish I had straight hair"; "I'd like to be taller". At times, we all want to look a bit more like someone else. However, the pictures we see on TV and social media can give us improper ideas about how our bodies "should" look. The truth is that everybody is different and that's a good thing. Accepting and feeling good about our bodies is really important for our self-confidence.
Body confidence is when we kindly accept our bodies. That includes our size and shape, skin color, appearance(外貌) and any physical disability.
If you feel positive(积极的) about your body, you are more likely to take care of it. Research has even shown that you are more likely to take part in activities and perform well in school. However, feeling agitated about your body could make you step back and even feel down. Jade Parnell from the Centre for Appearance Research (CAR) says that the cost of trying to get the "perfect" appearance is high. She says, "If you're spending a lot of time paying attention to it, you will have less time to spend with friends."
It's important to remember that everybody is different. To develop a positive body image(形象), Parnell says, "Try to talk positively about your own body and other people's bodies. Try not to pay too much attention to appearance. Instead, think about what your body does for you; do your legs make you run really fast " She also suggests treating your body well by eating different kinds of foods, exercising, and getting plenty of sleep. Remember that you are more than how you look.
( )35.What dose the writer think of the pictures on TV and social media
A. They are perfect for people to follow.
B. They may show wrong ideas of looks.
C. They show that everyone is different.
D. They teach people how to be confident.
( )36.What does the underlined word "agitated" mean in Chinese
A. 粗心的 B. 害怕的 C. 严肃的 D. 焦虑的
( )37.Which of the following might Parnell agree
A. People should accept their bodies.
B. People should avoid talking about others' bodies.
C. People should spend more money on their appearance.
D. People should remember what they were like in the past.
( )38.What is the main purpose of the passage
A. To remind people to take more exercise.
B. To encourage people to live positively.
C. To lead people to build up body confidence.
D. To advise people to treat their friends well.

E(2022·安徽合肥瑶海区期中)
I hit a stranger as he walked by me. "Oh, excuse me," I said.He replied with a smile and said, "Please excuse me too.I wasn't watching out for you." We said sorry to each other and went our own ways.
Later that day, when I was cooking, my daughter was standing too close to me. When I turned to reach for some milk,I nearly knocked her over. "Move out of the way!" I shouted. She walked away sadly.
While I was in bed that evening, my husband said to me,"While dealing with a stranger, you were polite, but with a daughter you love, you were unkind. Your daughter brought you some flowers that she picked herself this afternoon. You'll find them in the kitchen by the door."
I quietly went to my daughter's bed. "Dear, I'm so sorry," I said. "Are these the flowers you picked for me "
She said, "I found them by the tree. I picked them because they're pretty like you.I knew you'd like them."
I replied, "I'm really sorry for the way I acted today. I shouldn't have shouted at you."
"It's okay. I love you anyway,"she said as she kissed me.
