21.—Have you read the story The Boscombe Valley Mystery
—Yes. It tells ________. It’s really exciting with a surprise ending.
A.how attractive the Boscombe Valley is
B.how James McCarthy killed his father
C.how Holmes proves James is a murderer
D.how Holmes finds the real murderer
how attractive the Boscombe Valley is博斯库姆溪谷多么迷人;how James McCarthy killed his father詹姆斯·麦卡锡是如何杀死他父亲的;how Holmes proves James is a murderer福尔摩斯如何证明詹姆斯是凶手;how Holmes finds the real murderer福尔摩斯如何找到真凶。 tell后跟宾语,所以空处是宾语从句,从句用陈述句语序,四个选项都符合,根据“ the story The Boscombe Valley Mystery”和“It tells...”
22.—The Qi Great Wall in Jinan is ________ Great Wall in China.
—Yes, and it’s 500 years ________ than the Qin Wall.
A.older; older B.oldest; older C.the oldest; older D.the oldest; the older
23.A lot of money________ at the charity show, but the cost of living ________ a lot, so we still need to do much work to help the disabled people.
A.was raised; has risen B.was raised; is risen
C.rose; has risen D.rose; were raised
【答案】A
24.It’s impolite ________ him ________ his seat to the old lady on the bus.
A.of; to give B.for; not to give C.of; not to give D.of; don't give
It’s adj. of sb. to do sth. It’s adj. for sb. to do sth. 根据“impolite”和“ his seat to the old lady on the bus.”
25.The poster can be better designed if I ________ one more week.
A.give B.will give C.am given D.will be given
【答案】C

A.will be invited B.invites C.invited D.is invited
27.It is rude ________ you to speak to the old man in this way, so it is important ________ us to master social skills.
A.to; for B.of; for C.for; for D.of; of
It is +adj+of/for sb to do sth固定句型,for sb常用于表示事物的特征特点,of sb一般表示人物的性格、品德。
28.The elephants ________ to the zoo tomorrow afternoon.
A.is sent B.will send C.may be sent D.is going to send
故排除B和D;由时间状语“ tomorrow afternoon”可知,A项is sent是一般现在时的被动语态不符合题意,故排除A。
29.—If Subway Line 1 ________, people in Yangzhou will feel easier to travel around.
—Hard to imagine Yangzhou will have the subways.
A.will complete B.will be completed C.completes D.is completed

30.—Nancy, I haven’t seen your elder brother for a long time.
—He ________ Beijing for further education for a year.
A.went to B.has been to C.has gone to D.has been in

根据“...for a year.”可知此处表示从过去某一时间开始延续至今,用现在完成时,排除A;have gone去了某地没有回来,不与时间段连用;have been to表示去过某地已经回来了,与题意不符,故排除BC;根据“Nancy, I haven’t seen your elder brother for a long time.”可知哥哥一直在北京没离开,用has been in。

33.It’s crazy ________ you to buy the handbag at ________ high price.
A.about; such a B.of; such a C.for; such a D.of; so

Imagine a mass of floating waste is two times the size of the state of Texas. Texas has a land area of more than 678,000 square kilometers. So it might be difficult to imagine anything twice as big.

Laura Berner grew up in the mountains in Bavaria, Germany. “I remember as a child looking up into the sky and watching eagles fly over the valley where I lived,” she says. “That’s when I first decided that I’d love to leap into the air and feel the wind lift me off my feet.”
Laura had her first paragliding lesson when she was sixteen, and fell in love with the sport. “You run down a mountain slope, the wind catches your wing, and then you’re flying like a bird. It feels great. The views of the mountains from up there are fantastic.”
Laura’s husband Martin had never tried paragliding, but he was crazy about skiing. It seemed like a good idea for Laura and Martin to try each other’s hobbies. He taught her how to ski and she showed him how to paraglide. When each of them had learned how to do the other sport well, they decided to combine (融合) them and try paraskiing. “It’s like paragliding, but you’re wearing skis,” says Martin. “When you land, you have to start skiing immediately, or you will drop down in the snow. You have to be a good skier.”
In the past, Laura mostly did her hobby in the summer and Martin could only do his in the winter. Now they spend every winter weekend gliding over the valleys together, then skiing down the slopes of a snow-covered mountain. And in the summer they both do normal paragliding. “It’s more fun doing our hobbies together,” says Laura. “Now we can both really enjoy the summer and the winter!”
