Camels are important animals of the desert. They love heat and dryness. In hot weather, men and most animals like the cool shade when they rest, but camels lie down in the hot sun. They are often called "the ship of the desert", for they are the only "boat" that can carry passengers across the sea of sands. Their feet are made like cushions so that they do not sink into the sand. Camels have several pouches(袋) inside their body to keep water as in bottles, for they may have to go days at a time without a drink in deserts, so they fill up these bottles inside them.
Camels in Asia with one hump are called Dromedary. There are other camels that have two humps. The hump is not a broken back as it looks-it is made of fat, and when camels can't get any food, the fat in their hump helps to feed them as the food and water in their stomach feed them.
Camels "follow the leader". Wherever the leader goes, they will follow. So when several camels carry things over long distances, they are tied head to tail in a line, often with a donkey to lead them. The donkey has sense, but a camel has little sense. Cool as camels look, they are really dull animals with small brains.
Camels do more than carrying things for his owner. The mother camel gives milk and sometimes young camels are used for food. The camel's hair is collected to make blankets, clothes and tents. In our country the best paint brushes are made of camel's hair.

"Happy birthday!" cried the four old grandparents as Charlie came into their room. Charlie smiled and sat down. He was holding his present, his only present, very carefully. The four old people looked with anxious eyes at the chocolate bar in Charlie's hands. Mr. and Mrs. Bucket came in and stood by the bed, watching Charlie. The room became silent. Everybody was waiting for Charlie to open his present. Charlie ran his fingers back and forth slowly along it, feeling it lovingly.
Then Mrs. Bucket said gently, "You mustn't be too disappointed if you don't find what you're looking for under the wrapper. You really can't expect to be as lucky as all that.

"After all," Grandma Josephine said, "in the whole world there are only three tickets left to be found.
"The thing to remember," Grandma Georgina said, "is that whatever happens, you'll still have the bar of chocolate.
"Wonka's chocolate, cried Grandpa George, "is the best of all! You'll just love it!"
"Yes," Charlie replied quietly, "I know."
"Just forget all about those Golden Tickets and enjoy the chocolate," Grandpa Joe said.
They all knew it was crazy to expect this one poor little bar of chocolate to have a magic ticket inside, and they were trying as gently and as kindly as possible to prepare Charlie for the disappointment. But there was one other thing the grown-ups also knew, and it was this: however small the chance might be, it was there. A recent study suggests that eating fatty or sugary snacks alters our brain activity and creates lasting preferences for these less healthy food.
For the study, researchers gave one group of participants(参与者) a high-fat, high-sugar yogurt fat, low-sugar twice daily for eight weeks, while another got a low-yogurt. Apart from that, both groups continued their normal eating habits.
At the end, the group of people who consistently had high-fat, high-sugar yogurt generally said they were not interested in food like low-fat pudding or low-sugar apple juice any more. Results also showed that the treat increased brain activity in the group that had eaten the high-fat, high-sugar yogurt, but not in the other.
The researchers concluded that fatty, sugary snacks activate the brain's dopamine(多巴胺) system, which gives people a feeling of reward. "Diet has such a strong effect on brain activity that dopamine signals can fire even when people think of eating fatty or sugary food, like when they pass by a bakery. "Dana Small, director of the research, said, "It just tells us how sensitive we are to the food environment, and how the food environment can actually change our behaviour.”
In fact, food preferences aren't always something we're born with. Small added," People think that we eat what we like, but we actually like what we eat. "A study showed that after sticking to soup without added salt, people finally liked those soups as much as saltier soup. Small sard it's possible that such steps could work for fat and sugar, too.
