一、形容词和副词最高级的构成
1.形容词和副词最高级的规则变化
单词类型 构成方法 原 级 最高级
单音节和少数双音节单词 一般在词尾加-est tall long tallest longest
以字母e结尾的词直接加-st nice close nicest closest
以“辅音字母+y”结尾的词,先变y为i,再加-est busy easy busiest easiest
以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个辅音字母的,双写该辅音字母,再加-est big hot thin biggest hottest thinnest
大部分双音节和多音节单词 在词前加most careful slowly beautiful most careful most slowly most beautiful
2.不规则变化
good/well →best　　bad/badly→worst
many/much →most little →least
far →furthest/farthest
3.不规则形容词和副词的比较级
good/well—better;little—less;many/much—more;bad/badly/ill—worse;
far—farther/further
二、形容词和副词最高级的用法
1.形容词、副词的最高级用于对三个或三个以上的人或事物进行比较。一般用of.../in...短语来表示比较的范围。
2.形容词最高级前一般要加定冠词the;副词最高级前可加,也可不加。
3.当最高级前有物主代词或名词所有格时,不加定冠词the。
4.最高级前可加one of,即one of +the +形容词最高级+名词复数,表示“最……的……之一”。
5.最高级前可加序数词。
