(22-23七年级下·广东深圳·期末)Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (雅万高速铁路) was finished in March, 2023. For most Chinese, the opening of a high-speed railway is usual, but for people of Indonesia, this railway is a “dream road”. When China started to help them build it, they were excited and said, “We’ll have high-speed trains, too. Thank you, China!”
Indonesia was the second country in Asia to have a railway, but its old railways didn’t help it much. Trains ran at 60 kilometres an hour. It was slow. From Jakarta to Bandung, it’s about 160 kilometres. But it took over 3 hours by train. And those old railways are not in the right places. Also Jakarta has quite a lot of people. Many people use highways, so the highways are too busy. Indonesia really needs a high-speed railway.
When building this new railway, China met many difficulties. The 142.3-kilometre railway isn’t long. But because of the terrible terrain (地形), it needs lots of bridges and tunnels (隧道). The weather in Indonesia is hot and rainy. COVID-19 made it hard, too. But China worked hard and finished it.
This railway opens in June, 2023 and the speed of the trains is 5 times as fast as that of the old ones. It takes only 40 minutes to get to Bandung from Jakarta. How great!

“After Pepper arrived at the school, there was a lot of dancing and the children also really enjoyed the robot’s jokes,” said teacher Conley. “Some children refused to talk or play with others in the past. But now, they are happy to make friends with the robot. And it’s great to see them start up new friendships with others more easily.”

Bears’ fur is very thick(厚的)and it can keep them warm. The biggest bear is the polar bear. They live in the snow and ice. Their fur is usually black, but it is not always this colour.

The mother bear has babies then. The babies are “blind” when they’re born. Because they can’t see anything, they have to do many things with the help of their mother.
Bears are much cleverer than most animals in the world. They know how to run away from a person and go food by themselves.
