Step 1 Leading in
1.Ask the students to discuss the following questions in groups:
(1)What do you often do at the weekend
(2)What do you want to do this weekend
2.Students make a survey about the weekend activities and make a report like this:
In our group,Wang Jie often plays basketball with his father on Sunday.He wants to watch the soccer game this weekend…

Step 2 Before listening
1.Do activity 1.
(1)Ask the students to read the words and expressions in Activity 1.
(2)Play the recording and ask the students to listen to it carefully.
(3)Have them match the words and expression from Box A with the word and expressions from Box B.
(4)Play the recording again and let them check their answers with a partner.
(5)The teacher checks the answers with the class.

2.Do activity 2.
(1)Have the students look at the pictures in Activity 2.

Step 3 Listening and reading
1.Do activity 3.
(1)Ask the students to read the conversation silently.

(4)Explain the usage of “be going to”.
(5)Ask the students to read the questions in Activity 3.
(6)Have them answer the questions.
(7)Check the answers with the class.
(8)Let them act the conversation out.
2.Do activity 4.
(1)Have the students read the words in the box in Activity 4.
(2)Let them read through the conversation.
(3)Ask them to complete the conversation with the correct form of the words from the box.
(4)Tell the students to check with a partner.
(5)Check the answers with the class.

Step 4 Pronunciation and speaking
1.Do activity 5.
(1)Play the recording once without stopping.

(4)Ask the students to practice the sounds in pairs.

Step 1 Leading in

2.Ask students to talk about their plans for the weekend.They can work in groups of four and do the activity like this example:

3.The teacher invites some groups to share their conversations.
4.The teacher corrects their mistakes and makes some comments.

Learn new words
1.Show some pictures about the new words and talk something about the pictures.
2.Ask the students to work in groups and talk about the pronunciation of the new words and expressions.Then let them try to read the new words and expressions on their own.
3.The teacher reads them loudly for the students and ask them to read after him/her,paying attention to the spellings and pronunciation.
4.Ask the students to read and recite the new words and expressions.
