Step1: Review & Lead-in
Teacher said something like this: Last weekend, I saw a movie. And I went shopping.
I had a great time. How about you
Ask several students one by one:

--I did my homework on Sunday.

--She went with her classmates.
Step2: Presentation
1. Learn the phrases in 1a by presenting some pictures.
2. Finish 1a, then check the answers.
3. Look at the conversation, and learn the drills:

-- Well, on Saturday morning, I played badminton.
Step3: Pair work
Practice the conversation in 1c. Then make your own conversations.
Step5: Listening
Listen and finish 1b.2a.2b. Check the answers.

(1) anything interesting 意为“有趣的事”,形容词interesting修饰不定代词anything应后置,在句中做后置定语。
He told us something interesting. 他告诉了我们一些有趣的事。
This isn’t anything important. 这并不是什么重要的东西。
(2)*不定代词something一般用于肯定句;anything一般用于否定句,疑问句和条件状语从句。但当表达建议,请求等肯定意图时疑问句中也可以用something。当表示“任何”意味时,anything也可以用于肯定句。

1. surprise 的用法:
surprise 既可作名词,也可作行为动词。
作名词时,一为“惊奇;惊讶”,常用短语有:in surprise(惊奇), get a surprise (吃惊), to one’s surprise(使某人惊讶的是)等;
2) 作动词时,意为“使……惊奇”。surprise的形容词形式为surprised,常用短语有be surprised at (对……感到惊奇)等.用surprise及其相关短语填空。

(3) ______ ______ ______ (使我惊讶的是), they’re all afraid of him.
2. saw是see的过去式,意为“看,看见,看到”,强调看的结果,不用于进行时。
常用于see sb do/doing sth .意为“看见某人做了某事/正在做某事”。

*具有类似用法的词还有:watch,hear ,observe,notice,look at,listen to等。

So…that…意为“如此…以至于…”句型中的so 是副词,常用来修饰形容词或副词,引导结果状语从句。so that 意为“以便,因此”。二者意思不同,不能混淆。
