(2024山东省青岛第十七中学期中)
The way you use your cellphones around your family can have an effect on your relationships. Cellphones can make you feel more connected, but they can also distract(使分心) you and your family from connecting with each other in person. While some people need to check their cellphones for work or emergency(紧急情况) purposes, it's important to make meaningful connections through face-to-face communication.
Some people have trouble putting away their cellphones. They might feel they can't control how often they pick up their cellphones or how long they use them. They might feel the need to often check cellphones without a real reason or feel upset if they don't have an opportunity to use their cellphones. Using cellphones for work purposes during family time can increase worries and unhappiness among family members. While using their cellphones, parents talk to their kids less, reply more slowly, and overreact to being interrupted. And ignoring their partner while on the cellphone is linked to lower relationship satisfaction among couples.
Once you've given some thought to your own cellphone use, think about the rules you want your family to follow when you're together. To get your family on the same page, call a family meeting. Review each person's current cellphone use and areas where you think some changes might help. It's not just about simply cutting cellphone use down. Instead, consider what you're using your cellphone for and what activities you want to carry out.
For example, are you or your children using cellphones to stay connected, learn something new, do schoolwork, or do something else If you have kids, ask their opinions on your own cellphone use. You might be surprised by what they have to share. Use good communication skills by practicing active listening and showing curiosity about what each family member has to say.
Less cellphone use also usually means less screen time, which enables kids to spend more time outdoors and be more physically active. When teens spend more time actively with their parents, they tend to set higher educational goals.

(2022天津西青区期中)
Facebook was running my life. But what killed Facebook for me was when I posted a photo, and five minutes later my son asked me how many “likes” it had got. His question was a wake-up call.
“Likes” are signs of acceptance and approval(赞同). I had forgotten that acceptance and approval needed to come from the heart and I had unknowingly set a bad example to him.
Before I was absorbed in Facebook, I spent a lot more time reading books and magazines. I checked in with friends through texts, emails and phone calls.
To set a healthier example to my son, I deactivated my Facebook account.
I'd been in the habit of checking Facebook many times a day, so I had to come up with some new habits. I carried a novel and a crossword puzzle book. I rediscovered knitting. I started taking yoga classes.
I started to remember a few things. My body is fine just the way it is. I have friends who will help me out when I'm in trouble, and I will help them out. I do my best to be a good mother, and our son is happy and healthy. We are very lucky to be able to afford two vacations a year.
I stopped looking at the world through my smartphone. I felt completely present in the moment. The break left me feeling better about myself, my family, my home and my life.
After a few weeks, I returned to Facebook. Now I look at the photos of my friends' kids' growing up and treasure how social media allows me to keep in touch with my family. I no longer have the desire to post updates often. It is not an addiction any more.
5.What made the author begin to realize she should do something to control her time on Facebook
A.Her poor health. B.Her son's question.
C.Her not receiving “likes”. D.Her mother's phone call.
6.The underlined word “deactivated” in Paragraph 4 probably means “ ”.
A.closed B.updated C.kept D.checked
7.What did the author do to change her life
A.She traveled a lot for a year.
B.She developed some healthy habits.
C.She tried to make money for her holidays.
D.She went to the gym as often as she could.
8.What did the author think of her break from Facebook
A.It was good for her eyes.
B.It stopped her getting news.
C.It distanced her from her friends.
D.It gave her time to find beauty in life.
9.What is the author's attitude towards social media
