Period One 教案
Teaching aims:
1.Knowledge aims:
1)Master the following words: matter, sore, stomachache, foot, neck, stomach, throat
2)Master the important sentence patterns as below:
What’s the matter with you I have a stomachache./I have a sore throat/I have a cold.
He/She has a sore throat.
2.Ability aims: Learn how to talk about health problems
3.Emotion aims: Let the Students know keeping healthy is important.
Important & difficult points:
Learn how to talk about health problems by using “have”.
Teaching aids: blackboard, computer, tape
Teaching design:
Step 1 Warming-up
Show the teaching goals and request.
Step 2 Lead in
1. T: How are you all S: Fine/Good. T: I’m glad to hear that. Health is very important. You won’t happy if you aren’t healthy. But when you are sick, you need to tell what’s the matter with you. Then the doctor can help you to make you all right. Today let’s learn how to express your health problems in English.
2. Teach the parts of the body one by one by touching it. While teaching one, let them touch
or show it.
3. Present a picture of a boy. Let the Students say the parts of the body.
4. Look at the picture of Section A on Page 1 and complete 1a. Then Check the answer.
Step 3 Presentation and Listening.
1.T: Teach the new words. Students listen to the tape and read the new words. Try to remember the meaning of the words.
2. Listen to the Section A 1b. The students listen to the tape and write down the new words of this class they hear.
3. Present other pictures, talk about health problems of the persons in the pictures.
What’s the matter He/She has a headache/ toothache / stomachache/a sore back/ a sore
throat/a cold .
4. Let the students find the sentence patterns of express sickness. The teacher make a
summary: What’s the matter with sb = What’s up/wrong/ the trouble with sb
sb. have a cold/ toothache/stomachache….
sb. have a sore throat/back.
5. Listen to the Section A 1b again and look at the picture. Then number the names
【1-5】.Check the answers with students. Listen to the tape of 1b for the third time and write true or false of the sentences below. And then answer the questions.
1) Sarah visits her grandparents on the farm yesterday.
2) David ate too much junk food at his birthday party.
3).Ben can't move now.
4).Judy looks really tired.
5). Nancy's teeth hurt a lot.
In this part, students may try to retell the passages. And the teacher may ask these questions to guide the students:
1).How did Sarah catch a cold
2).What happened to David this morning
3).Who hurt himself when he was playing soccer
4).What's the matter with Nancy
5). How does Judy feel now
The teacher shows the main points of each passage and let students to practice in pairs and try to retell the conversations.
6. Let students summarize the language points of this lesson.
Step 4 Practice and Speaking.
1. The teacher gives students a sample of a conversation that talks about health problem.
Leave some blanks for students to complete.
2. Work in pairs. Make a conversation based on the request that the teacher write on the screen.

Teaching aims:
1.Knowledge aims:
1)Master the following words: fever,lie,rest,cough,X-ray,break,hurt,passenger,off,
onto,trouble,hit. to one’s surprise, take one’s temperature, lie down, get an X-ray, have a fever, take breaks, have a rest, get into, right away.
2)Master the important sentence patterns as below:
What should I do Should I take my temperature
If your head and neck still hurt tomorrow, then go to a doctor.
2.Ability aims:
1) Continue to talk about health problems by learning more names of illness
2) Master to use simple past tense to talk about accidents.
3) Learn to give simple advice.
3.Emotion aims:
1) Let the Students know they should take care of themselves and try to help others in
trouble.
2) Learn how to talk about health problems by using “have”.
Teaching Key Points & Difficult Points:
1. How to teach the Students to learn the names of the illness: toothache, fever and headache.
2. How to give others some advice according to their matters.
3. Learn how to take care of themselves and others.

Step 1 Warming-up
Greetings.
Review words of last class.
Step 2 Lead in
1. T: What’s the date today / What day is it today / How’s the weather / How was your
weekend /What do you usually do on weekends / Do you like exercising / How often do you exercise / That’s great! To do exercise can keep us healthy, but if we don’t pay attention to our health, there will be something wrong with our body. Now , look at these people.
2. Let students to say the matters that may happen to these people on the picture. In this way, students can review how to talk about illness.
3. T: Good Job! You all have master what we learned last class and today, we will continue to learn more common illness. First, let’s start with the new words.
Step 3 Presentation and Listening.
1.T: Teach the new words. Students listen to the tape and read the new words. Try to remember the meaning of the words.
2. Listen to the SectionA 2a. The students listen to the tape and write down the new words of
this class they hear. Listen to the tape again and complete 2a -2b questions.
3. Present other pictures, talk about health problems of the persons in the pictures.In this part,
those illness must be from the listening part and teach the new kind of health problems and
give advice to deal with them.
4. Read the conversation of 2b, Section A and let students to pick out language points and
then role-play the conversation.
5. Show pictures of accidents and ask students what they will do in this situation.
6. Read the passage of 3a ,SectionA and find the answers for 3b and 3c.
7. Teach the passage . Summarize the language points and help students to use them.
8. Ask students to translate the whole passage one sentence by one and students may form groups to gain group points.
9. Let students to retell the story. In this part, students may use the simple present tense to describe the accident.
10. Give students some time to ask difficult questions for themselves.
Step 4 Practice and Speaking.
1. Work in pairs. Make a conversation based on the listening part 2a. Students should try to
give advice in their conversations.

In this part ,the teacher should guid students to review the important sentence patterns as below:

Does she have a toothache Yes, she does. No, she doesn’t.

Step 3 Presentation and Practice
1.Teacher: Good Job! you all have master the important sentence patterns fo this unit. Now let’s make a summary. The teacher summarize the use of word “should ”.
① 用来表提出劝告,职责义务,后接动词原形。
You should go home before nine p.m.
② 变一般疑问句,直接将should 提前。
Should I go home before nine p.m.
肯定回答: Yes, you should. 否定回答: No,you shouldn’t./No, you should not.
③ 特殊疑问句,特殊疑问词+should引导的一般疑问句。

2. Fill in the blanks and practice the conversations. (4a, P4)
3. Circle the best advice for these health problems. Then add your own advice. (4b, P4)
4. Present other short passage and let students to fill in the blanks. This passage should practice the use of should and reflexive pronouns. After check the answers with students, the teacher may lead in the grammar that talking about reflexive pronouns.
5. Show pictures of a group of people who have different social status. T: Look at those pictures. Based on the Chinese words , can you help them to translate it into English. Students give reflexvie pronouns according the gender and amount of people. Teach the reflexive pronouns and let the students to do some practice on that.
6. Give students some time to digest the grammar and ask questions about their problems.
Step 4 Listening and Speaking.
1. Teach the new words of Section A.
2. Listen to the tape and put the actions in 1a, Section B in order.
3. Listen again and check the problems. Then finish 1b and 1c, Section B.
4. Summarize the new phrases in Section B .
5. Role-play a conversation between the nurse and the teacher. Use the information in 1b and
1c.
Step5 Homework:
1. Review the use of reflexive pronouns.
2. Recite the new words and phrases.
3. Review the use of should.

Teacher: Accidents or problems can sometimes happen when we do sports. Open your book on page 6 .Write the letter of each sport next to each accident or problem that can happen.
2. Check the answers of 2a in Section B.
3. Teacher: Good Job! Today we are going to learn a story about a brave person saving himself in an accident. First let’s see a short film. During you watching, you should find out the answers of the questions as below:
1) How many people are there in the first film
2) What’s the name of the young man
3) What happened to the man
4. After watching, students answer the questions and then the teacher say: “OK, now let’s read the young man----- Aron’s story.”
Step 3 Presentation and Reading.
1.T: Teach the new words. Students listen to the tape and read the new words. Try to
remember the meaning of the words.
2. Ask students to read the passage with the questions in 2d. Leave the last question. After
teaching the whole passage then let students try to answer it.
7. Ask students about the main idea of the passage.
8. Teach the passage . Summarize the language points and help students to use them.

9. Let students to retell the story.
10. Give students some time to ask difficult questions for themselves.
Step 4 Practice and Speaking.
Ask students to complete 2c and 2e.
Work in groups and imagine you are the school nurse and a student just had an accident or a health problem. Make notes about what he/she should and shouldn’t do.
Write a conversation between the nurse and the student using the notes above.
Step 5 Self-check
Summarize the key grammar of this unit and ask some students to give examples.
Complete self-check one to three as practice.
