①[重点]number of 意为“……的数量 此处number of 前面省略了冠词the，the number of 意为“……的数量”。“a number of+可数名词复数”做主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。number前可以用large, small修饰表示程度。 【测一测】 In our hospital, the number of women doctors larger and larger. A is B. are C. be D. been ②spend vt.花费（时间或金钱） 考向一[重点]spend time ( in) doing sth.表示“花时间做某事”。其中in 可以省略。 eg.She spends two hours doing her homework every day. 考向二[重点]：spend time or money on sth.“在某物上花费时间/金钱”。 eg.My mother spends some time on her work every day. 【测一测】 —It's reported that Chinese more than 40 minutes a day reading WeChat. 一It's true. But I think WeChat is taking too much of our time. ④daily 每日的，日常的 考向：同义词为everyday eg.My grandma is eighty years old,but her daily life is still organized.（daily =everyday）我祖母八十岁了，但是她的日常生活井井有条。 ⑤weekly adj.每周的 考向：由week和-ly 构成，类似的词还有：monthly，yearly。 eg；He wrote a weekly letter to his parents. ⑥quick adj. 快的 eg；This is a quick train.这是一列快车。 考向：quick 的副词形式是在quick后加-ly，quick-quickly意为“迅速地”。 eg；He ran to the park quickly. 辨析：quick 与 fast 相同点都表示“快的”不同点多指运动物体速度“快”，强调物体运动的方式，侧重强调过程的迅速，快。 eg：The train runs faster than the car.火车比小汽车跑得快。 quick 多指动作发生的迅速，敏捷，并强调动作的短暂性和动作迅速发生并完成。 eg:Jim is quick to learn.吉姆学东西很快。
⑦look through浏览 eg:He looked through the exam paper quickly ,and then wrote down the answers.他快速浏览了试卷并写下了答案。 归纳：与look 相关的短语： look after 照看； look at 看； look like 看起来像； look down on 瞧不起； look forward to 期待； look out of 向……外看; look for 寻找； look around 环顾 【测一测】 —I found my sister my things and taking my new magazines.What should I do —I guess you should tell her it’s not right.
