教学内容分析
本单元学习内容为现在进行时的基本问答。本课时为本单元的第一课时教学，教学内容为story time，文本内容讲述了Mike一家上午和下午分别进行的活动。要求学生初步理解感知现在进行时，并掌握相关的家务的动词词组。
教学目标
1. 能听懂、会读、会说单词：eleventh eighth together. 2. 能听懂、会读、会说日常用语：When’s your birthday What do you do on your birthday 及回答It’s on… I usually… 3. 能正确的理解并朗读课文，在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。 4. 能了解中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯，能学会感恩父母。

教学重点：能正确理解并朗读课文，在教师的帮助下尝试复述课文。 教学难点：能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人的生日以及如何过生日。

Step1. Pre-reading 1. Free talk. What day is it today What date is it today What’s the weather like today May is a nice month. It’s usually warm and sunny. There are many festivals in May. Let’s look at the calendar: 1) When’s May Day It’s on the first of May.引出日期的基本表达模式 the+序数词+of+月份 2) When’s Mother’s Day It’s on the fourteenth of May. 3) When’s the Dragon Boat Festival It’s on the thirty-first of May. 2. Quick response: try to guess: what holiday is it (1). Children like this festival very much. It is on the first of June. ------Children’s Day (3). It is a holiday for women. Watch and find: Whose birthdays are they talking about Su Hai and Su Yang’s birthday; Mike’s birthday (2). Ask and answer in pairs. 2. Listen and choose: When’s the twins’ birthday What do they do on their birthday (learning tip: 学着做一些笔记) Ss: It’s on the eleventh of May. Listen to the tape and read the text. Then try to recite. 3. Surf the internet and know more about birthday customs in the world.
结合研究主题进行评析
本课单词词汇上的教学并不难，在听过几遍录音后，学生大多能基本无误地读出课文。但仅仅是单纯的读，求快，语调拖沓、没有升降，与原音相比差别较大。对于高年级的学生来说，不能忽视朗读的美感。教师对于难度较低的文本，应加强朗读指导，注重升降调，长句的停顿，以及单词的发音到位，并注意融入情感，切实走入课文，不要让英语朗读变成“和尚念经”。
