Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, the rest of the furry—loveable characters of a famous film The Muppets—don't they just bring a smile to your face every time you see them Would you believe they were the creation of a special creative mind Whose was it Jim Henson's, of course!
Jim Henson was born in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1936. As an adult, he loved to work with puppets(木偶). Before he turned 20 years old. he had achieved success with a popular late-night puppet show called Sam and Friends.

This allowed puppeteers more freedom, since they didn't have to be stuck behind a screen. It also made the puppets seen much more lifelike.
Henson's big break came in 1969, when his puppets became an important part of popular educational show Sesame Street. Since that time, Henson's beloved characters have become closely related to public television.

Always preparing for a challenge, Henson branched out(拓展)into major movies, proving that his puppets could be as popular on the big screen as they were on television. Over the years. Henson's characters had charmed countless people with their unique humor.

Does bad grammar drive you crazy It may not just be a matter of opinion—scientists at the University of Birmingham in the UK have shown that hearing bad grammar can make us feel stressed, because it causes the body's autonomic nervous system, which controls our body's unconscious(无意识的)processes such as breathing and heart rate.
The study tested how our heart rate answers when we hear grammatical mistakes in a speech. It found a direct connection between poor grammar and reduced heart rate variability, which is the measure of the variation in time between our heartbeats, and a known sign of stress.
For the research. 41 healthy British English-speaking adults listened to 40 speech records by four different speakers with British and Polish accents(口音), while their heart rate was monitored by a machine attached to their fingers. Some of the speeches had grammatical mistakes, using the words "a", "an" and "the" incorrectly. The length of the speeches changed, and the number of grammatical mistakes in them changed, too.
The results showed that on average, the listeners' heart rate variability dropped when they heard further their heart rate variability dropped. In addition to this, the listeners found it more stressful to hear grammatical mistakes made by native English speakers compared to speakers with a Polish accent, because heart rate variability was more reduced when hearing grammatical mistakes made by those with grammatical mistakes in the speech. They also showed that the more mistakes that listeners heard, the a British accent.
The study's lead author, Dagmar Divjak, said the results could have a practical application: They might be used to help test the mental abilities of people who cannot speak due to poor health or old age.

A. The rules of learning grammar.
B. The ways to avoid making mistakes.
C. The importance of having a good mood.
D. The impact of grammatical mistakes on our feeling.
