Aqua's journey
Hi, my name is Aqua, and I'm a water drop. I live in a white cloud. The cloud is made up of a large quantity of water drops like me.
This morning, we all wake up, feeling heavy. We look at each other and know the water cycle journey is about to begin. One water drop says in a high voice, "Huddle together and here we go!"
As we get closer to the ground, we can see a pond. The pond almost dries up. I fall next to a yellow plant in the pond. The plant welcomes me by its roots drinking me up. It is a very hard journey through the roots because they are all tangled (缠绕) together. Soon I see the stem. I go fast straight up to the leaf. I know my stay is valuable to the leaf because it looks a bit greener.
But the Sun starts shining. It heats me and I'm feeling much lighter. "Aqua, Aqua!" I hear someone calling me. I lift myself up and see my friends up above. I join them, become part of the air and return to the sky.

I like reading poems and I read a lot of poems translated by Xu Yuanchong. As a renowned translator, with a legendary life as well, Xu Yuanchong was born into a literary family in Nanchang on April 18th, 1921 and passed away on June 17th in 2021 in Beijing.
When he was little, he was influenced by his mother who was interested in literature. When he graduated from Tsinghua University, Xu Yuanchong went to Pairs to obtain a further education.
