One of the most important things in the world is friendship. In order to have friends, you have to be a friend. But how can you be a good friend at school
Listen
Listen when they are talking. Don t say anything unless they ask you a question. Sometimes it s not necessary for you to have anything to say. They just need someone to talk to about their feelings.
Help them
If your friend is ever in need of something, be there to help them. You should try to put them first, but make sure you don t do anything they don t want you to do. Try to take an extra pencil or pen with you to the classroom in case(以防)they forget to bring one. Have a little extra money in your pocket in case they forget something they need.
Be there for them
Try to make something for your friend to help make them feel better in hard times. Making cards and encouraging them are among the nicest things you can do for a friend. Marilyn Monroe, a famous US actor, once said, “I often make mistakes. Sometimes I am out of control. But if you can t stay with me at my worst, you are sure not to deserve(值得)to be with me at my best.” If you don t want to stay with your friend when they re in hard times, then you don t deserve to be with them when they re in good times!
Make plans
Try to make plans with your friend. Go shopping, go for ice cream, have a party, go to a movie and so on. Take time to know each other even better by doing something you both enjoy. By planning things together, you both can have a good time. And you will remember these things when you re old.
21.How should you listen to your friend
A.Look around yourself when they are talking to you.
B.Ask them a lot of questions when listening to them.
C.Listen patiently and let them pour out their feelings.
D.Correct them from time to time when they say something wrong.
22.What can we learn from Marilyn Monroe s words
A.Nothing is hidden between true friends.
B.Allow friends to make mistakes and correct them.
C.True friends show respect for and admire each other.
D.True friends don t leave each other when one is facing trouble.
23.What are you advised to do when making a plan with your friend
A.Force your idea upon your friend.
B.Let your friend make a decision.
C.Reach an agreement between you.
D.Turn to others for help if necessary.
B
“REMOVE from friends.”
This is no ordinary button. One click, and I have the power to erase a person from my life.
In late fall, I had around 400 friends on Facebook. Today, I have 134. Click. Make that 133.
When Facebook first entered my life in 2005, I panicked when my friend count was too low. If I wasn t properly connected, how would anyone see my clever quotes Who would wish me a happy birthday I accepted and sent out friend requests without a second thought and soon accumulated 391 friends.
It is appealing to be able to communicate 24/7 with someone or just “thumbs(拇指) up” a photo rather than make real conversation.
“It s comforting and it s easy,” said Larry Rosen, a professor at California State University, who studies the way people communicate online. “There s a sense of belonging in it. It s a sense of community in a generation where community has sort of disappeared.”
However, I don t talk to half of these people in the online community. Click. 132. Sound easy You try it.
Look at who you re dealing with: family, friends, classmates... With every click of the “Remove from friends” button, you risk burning a bridge, losing a contact and missing an opportunity. So every time I go to click the button, my heart hurts.
The New Oxford American Dictionary announces its “Word of the Year” each year, and last year, “unfriend” made the cut(入选) (though I ll still stick with “defriend”).
When I started my mission(任务), a few friends joined.
“Oh my God, I defriended about 600 people today. I feel so good!” my friend Sarah messaged.
Dana, a close friend from high school, and I battled it out to see who could get our counts lower. She won at 123.
To some, it s poor “netiquette(网络礼仪)” to “defriend”. But to me, it s the stage of life when we hold onto the people who count and the people who impact you.
24.According to the article, what happens when you click the “Remove from friends” button
A.You send out a friend request to people.
B.You accept someone as your online friend.
C.A message is sent out to your online friends.
D.The number of your online friends is reduced.
25.Why did the writer feel panic in 2005
A.It was the first time she had used Facebook.
B.She had only 391 online friends at that time.
C.She was afraid of connecting with others.
D.She had just a few friends to communicate with online.
26.What does “defriend” mean to the writer
A.Impoliteness.
B.A sense of belonging.
C.A battle with her friends.
D.Keeping those who matter more.
27.Which one would be the best title of this passage
A.No ordinary button
B.Losing friends can be fun
C.A Friend in need is a friend indeed
D.Facebook, a special online community
C
Teens with dominant(占主导地位的) friends are at higher risk of mental health problems, according to a new research republished in The Conversation.
Dominant friends often control decision-making power. They can also control others behavior, like by making the junior friend go to a party they don t want to attend.
Friendships are extremely important relationships for teens, but are they always a positive influence Some psychology researchers were interested in the potential psychological results of having dominant friends. They predicted(预测) that being part of this kind of friendship might make teenagers feel useless or anxious.
To investigate it, 388 teenagers were surveyed at U.S. high schools five times across one year. Each time, teen participants were asked to answer questions about their close friends dominating behavior: Do they make all the decisions Do they always get their own way
Consistent with researchers predictions before, they found that when teenagers felt powerless in their close friendships—like their friends always made the decision—they experienced lower self-value and more symptoms(症状) of depression or anxiety.
Although some teens might be OK going with the flow and letting their friends take the control, the study found some of the first evidence that this kind of unequal relationship can be psychologically harmful. Healthy friendships should offer both partners opportunities to have a say and make decisions.
The findings suggest that it s important to teach teens how to form healthy, fair friendships. One friend shouldn t always feel bossed around or powerless. Also, teenagers may benefit from receiving help in developing effective communication tools for asserting(坚持) their wants and needs to their close friends.
28.Which kind of person below is probably a dominant friend
A.One who knows how to make decisions.
B.One who is willing to respect friends needs.
C.One who always asks friends to buy food for him.
D.One who attends the party his friend doesn t want to.
29.How could most teens with dominant friends feel
A.Lonely. B.Worthless.
C.Positive. D.Self-respected.
30.What do the underlined words “Consistent with” mean in Paragraph 5
A.Apart from. B.Satisfied with.
C.Unconnected with. D.In agreement with.
31.What would the researchers suggest teens with dominant friends do
A.Express their own needs firmly.
B.Take back control of the relationship.
C.End the friendship with dominant friends.
D.Go with the flow and let dominant friends take the control.
D
Teenagers in the US know they ll probably need technical skills to land good jobs, but a new survey suggests that interest in technical careers may be decreasing(减少).
The percentage of boys aged 13 to 17 who are interested in science, technology, engineering and math—or STEM—careers dropped from 36 percent in 2017 to 24 percent this year, according to a survey by Junior Achievement USA. The percentage of girls interested in STEM careers stayed unchanged at 11 percent.
But the 1,000 survey participants still named technology as one of two key skills that would be necessary for preparing them for their future careers.
“Kids don t understand where technology can be applied outside of computers, coding (编码) and maybe robotics,” said Tammera L. Holmes, president of aviation consulting firm AeroStar Consulting Corporation. “That s all they know, so they can t really link that interest to career pathways(职业道路).”
When Holmes was in high school, her mom sent her to an event that featured(以……为特色) the Tuskegee Airmen, famous military(军事的) pilots from World War Ⅱ. One of the pilots took her for air travel. “I was 16 years old, flying over Lake Michigan, and facing down the skyline, and I knew immediately that that was the career for me,” she said.
Women remain outnumbered by men in fields like technology. For people working to increase the number of women in these areas, the lack of growth in girls interest in STEM careers is worrying.
“Teenage girls are more interested than their male classmates in pursuing(追求) careers in which they can help others,” said Ed Grocholski from Junior Achievement. “Even with all the programs aimed at increasing girls interest in STEM, I don t think we really talk that much about how we improve people s lives through STEM.”
“Society needs to do better in making those connections for kids,” said Katherine Latham, the founder of an engineering firm. She used civil engineering(土木工程) as an example of a career that would continue to be crucial.
However, the fact that students knew they would need technical skills in their future careers was encouraging. The second skill they said they would need was relationship-building.
“They re going to be the new breed(类型) of engineers,” said Latham.
32.What is the reason behind kids falling interest in technical careers
A.They find technical careers too boring.
B.They find technical skills are less important than before.
C.They can t connect their interest with future careers.
D.They don t think technical careers are rewarding enough.
33.What started Holmes s interest in her current career
A.A documentary about the life of pilots.
B.A summer camp for trainee pilots.
C.Her parents wish for her to become a pilot.
D.Her flight experience with a pilot.
34.According to Grocholski, what kinds of careers are teenage girls more interested in
A.Careers that can improve people s lives.
B.Careers that will make them look beautiful.
C.Careers that are different from those of their parents.
D.Careers that can make them socialize more with other people.
35.What is the article mainly about
A.The popularity of technical careers among kids and its reasons.
B.The change of kids interest in technical careers and the reasons behind it.
C.The different careers boys and girls in the US will pursue.
D.Some examples of kids pursuing technical careers successfully.

That day, the weather was very hot, and I was so nervous that I was unable to keep still and think calmly. My friend John and I were discussing a problem. I thought that this was the right thing to do, but he thought that that was the right thing to do.
In the middle of our discussion, he made ink from his pen on my new notebook by accident. I was very angry and I said to him, “Why did you do that ” As I spoke, I deliberately spilled the ink from my pen onto his book. “You, you did it on purpose,” he said loudly. At that moment, he was very angry, his face was red with anger, his eyebrows were almost raised, his forehead was wrinkled(使起皱纹) more and more tight, and his mouth was wide open with anger. Suddenly, he pushed my things on the table to the floor. When I saw him do this, I was annoyed with him very much, so I pushed him to the floor, and angrily said to him, “We are no longer friends!” “Well, it s you who break off the friendship!” He shouted like a lion. I immediately took my things and left.
From that day on, every time I met him, I would take another way to avoid him. When I met him, he seemed to want to say something. However, I didn t wait for him to say anything, and ran away like an arrow.
Since that incident, I had been reflecting(反思) on myself, feeling that I had done something wrong, but I didn t have enough courage to apologize to him. I knew that he didn t mean to make ink from his pen on the book that time, but I exactly did. I shouldn t have made his book wet with ink by design. I hated myself all the time. I was angry with myself.
注意:续写词数应为150个左右。

I was so happy that I shed tears of delight.

56.who 考查定语从句。设空处无提示词,空前为the one,指人,“ 56 brings out the best in me”缺少主语,故推测设空处引导定语从句,且在从句中作主语,所以用关系代词who。
57.was walking 考查动词的时态和主谓一致。根据句中的rolled可知,此处描述过去的动作,固定句型be doing sth. when...表示“正在做某事,这时……”,所以此处应用过去进行时,主语为I。故填was walking。
故填and。
60.to have 考查动词不定式。动词encourage后接动词不定式作宾语补足语。故填to have。

第一节
One possible version:
Dear Peter,
I m very glad to tell you I have made a new friend in my new school. And I m writing to introduce her to you since we two happen to share the same interests.
Wang Fang, aged 16, with light skin and black hair, is a slim and outgoing girl who is very easy to get along with. She is fond of English culture and has a passion for English dialects, which are also my favorites. And we have decided to join the English language club at senior high. You can get in touch with her and her email address is vtdz54231@.
Best wishes!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
第二节
One possible version:
One day, I suddenly heard that John was going to study in another school. I felt a mix of emotions. But after considering, I thought I needed to apologize for my actions and seek his forgiveness. One day I plucked up the courage to walk up to him, saying “John, I want to apologize for what I did. I was wrong, and I m truly sorry.” “I appreciate your apology,” he said calmly. “But you should know that I have already forgiven you. We were both young and made mistakes.”
I was so happy that I shed tears of delight. His words washed over me like a wave of relief. I realized that holding onto guilt and anger had only hindered my own growth. It was time to let go of the past and rebuild our friendship. From that day forward, John and I became closer than ever before. Our shared experience taught us the value of forgiveness and understanding.
