If you plan to take your pet on a trip, prepare ahead of time. At least two weeks before you leave, take your pet to a vet. See if he or she is fit for travel and ask if he or she should have any medicine before leaving. The vet may suggest certain pills for sickness or for calming the pet.
Some states or foreign countries have health laws that say animals must have certain injections(注射)before they can be allowed to enter. Your vet may have this information. You can also get help on the United States and Canadian laws from a book published by the Department of Agriculture which some libraries have. For information on foreign countries, check with their consulates (领事馆).You can also ask the airlines on which you are travelling.
Find out if the places where you plan to stay allow pets because many do not.
If you are going by plane or train, ask if pets are allowed. If they are,ask where they will be kept and who will care for them. The big bus lines in this country do not allow pets.
Choose your pet’s box carefully. Plastic boxes are better than cardboard or wooden ones because they can' be chewed(嚼碎).

What do you see when you look at abstract(抽象) art?Does it make sense to you Does it look like anything Is it supposed to
Abstract art became popular in the early 20th century. Artists did not want to paint, draw, or sculpt (雕刻) things exactly like they looked. They didn’t want their art to be realistic. They were more interested in basic shapes and colours.
Picasso is probably the most famous of these artists. He painted and drew in many, many styles. Sometimes he used a lot of blue colours (his “blue period”). Later, he used more red and pink colours (his “rose period”). Many of his other paintings are called “cubist(立体画派)” because they are made of painted squares.
After a long time, Picasso’s paintings became more and more abstract. He painted people and things using strange shapes. His work was so original (独创的) that many of his fellow (同事) artists didn’t understand it.
Kandinsky, another famous artist, used lines, shapes, and patterns to paint his subjects. His paintings also used strong colours to express feelings.
Other artists like the surrealists(超现实主义者), were interested in subconscious(潜意识). Painters like Breton and Magritte used many symbols in their work. The meaning or subject of their work wasn't always clear. Dali, another surrealist artist, painted pictures that look like dreams.
There are still many abstract artists around the world. It’s often hard to say exactly what their art is about. That's the way many artists prefer. They want each person to look at art and find their own meaning in it.

Without proper planning, tourism can cause problems. For example, too many tourists can crowd(拥挤)public places that are also enjoyed by the local people. If tourists create too much traffic, the local people become unhappy. They begin to dislike tourists and to treat them impolitely. They forget how much tourism can help the country’s economy(经济). Too much tourism can be a problem. If tourism grows too quickly, people must leave other jobs to work in the tourism industry. It is a fact that tourism provides local people with a lot of chances to work, but at the same time it also means that other parts of the country’s economy may suffer. Many other industries will be badly influenced.
On the other hand, if there is not enough tourism, people may lose jobs. Businesses may also lose money. It costs a great deal of money to build large hotels, airports, first-class roads, and other support facilities(设施)needed by tourist attractions. For example, an international-class hotel may cost as much as 50 thousand dollars per room to build. If the room is not used most of the time, the owners of the hotel will lose money.
Tourism should help a country keep the customs and beauty that attract tourists. Tourism should also advance the well-being(安乐)of the local people.
1. If tourists create too much traffic, _______________ will appear on the local people’s faces.
2. If the room is not in ____________ most of the time, the owners will lose the money.
