Ma Hongda is a 23-year-old student. He became the first Chinese person to win the plastering (抹灰) and drywall systems event in the World Skills Competition 2022 Special Edition, which ended recently in Bordeaux, France.
Ma, who showed his talent for the competition, was born in 2000 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He started learning construction and decoration (装饰) at Zhejiang Construction Technician College in Hangzhou when he was 16.

In Bordeaux, the four-day competition had five sections. In these sections, competitors were required to calculate (计算) the materials they would use according to the drawings provided. Seagrass, an underwater plant that grows on the ocean floor, is very important for sea life. It also helps prevent global warming by storing carbon, a harmful gas.
