过去进行时。
（一）、用法：过去进行时常表示过去某一时刻或过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作。
1、表示过去某个时刻正在进行的动作。
例如：He was having breakfast at six o’clock last night.
昨天晚上六点他正在吃晚饭。
2、表示过去某个时间段正在进行的动作。
例如：He was writing stories the whole morning.
他整个早上都在写故事。
I was watching TV all the time last night.
昨天晚上我一直在看电视。
、过去进行时的构成：
1、肯定结构：主语+was/were +doing+其它.
例如：I was watching TV at eight last night.
昨天晚上八点，我正在看电视。
例如：He was having breakfast at seven this morning.
今天早上七点，他正在吃早餐。
2、否定结构：主语+was/were +not +doing+其它.
例如：I was not watching TV at eight last night.
昨天晚上八点，我没看电视。
又如：He was not having breakfast at seven this morning.
今天早上七点，他不是在吃早餐。
3、一般疑问句：Was/Were+主语+doing+其它
例如：Were you watching TV at eight last night
昨天晚上八点你在看电视吗？
Yes, I was. / No, I wasn’t.
是的，我在看电视。\ 不，我没有看电视。
例如：Was he having breakfast at seven this morning
今天早上七点他在吃早餐吗？
Yes, he was. / No, he wasn’t.
是的，他在吃早餐。\ 不，他没有吃早餐。
特殊疑问句：疑问词+was/were+主语+doing+其它？
（三）、关于现在分词的构成：
（1）、一般加ing . 例如：
play----playing 玩；watch----watching 看
（2）、以不发音的e 结尾,去e 加ing. 例如:
take----taking 拿；make----making 做；come---coming 来；live----living 居住
（3）、双写最后一个字母的单词要特殊记忆。例如：
run----running 跑；cut----cutting 切；swim----swimming 游泳；sit----sitting 坐
get----getting 获得；shop----shopping 购物；stop-----stopping 停止；win----winning 赢
put----putting 放；forget----forgetting 忘记；begin----beginning 开始
（四）、关于过去进行时的标志词。
1、at+具体时刻+过去时间，例如：at five last Saturday 上个周星期六五点钟
2、at this time+过去时间，例如：at this time yesterday 昨天的这个时候
3、过去时间段，例如：from nine to ten last evening昨天晚上九点到十点
4、at that time/moment 在那个时候
5、when \ while引导的过去时间状语从句
（五）、特殊句型——when \while引导的过去时间状语从句
短：短暂性动作（用一般过去时）
长：持续性动作（用过去进行时）
口诀：when后可长亦可短，while后只可长。
例如：翻译句子——当小偷来的时候，我正在睡觉。
When the thief came in, I was sleeping.
The thief came in, while I was sleeping.
口诀：若是两个都为长，while 来把纽带当
例如：翻译句子——当我正在睡觉的时候，小偷把电视机搬出去了。
While the thief was carrying the TV out, I was sleeping.

、区别一般过去时和过去进行时。
一般过去时：过去的不精确时间；例如：I watched TV last night. 我昨天晚上看了电视。
过去进行时：过去的精确时间或者时间段；例如：I was watching TV at 8:00 last night. 昨天晚上八点钟，我正在看电视。
现在进行时和过去进行时时间标志词的区别：
现在进行时：now,at this moment; Look,Listen；例如：Look, Jack is playing basketball. 瞧，杰克正在打篮球。
过去进行时：过去的精确时间或者时间段；例如：I was watching TV at eight last night. 昨天晚上八点，我正在看电视。
