In public, the toilet is not located in a room with a shower or bath, so people usually ask to use the restroom, but sometimes they ask to use the bathroom.In either case, it is understood that they want to use the toilet. But in Britain, it is common to ask to use the toilet, W.C.(water closet), or loo(厕所).
