教学设计
课 题 Unit 4 Wildlife Protection Book2 Period1 Listening and Speaking & Pronunciation
课时安排 1课时 课前准备 听力材料
教材内容 分 析 该板块以“谈论濒危野生动物保护”（talk about saving endangered wildlife）为活动主题，通过听对话了解正在恶化的动物生存环境，让学生了解野生物种正以惊人的速度从地球消失的事实和原因。认识到人类不恰当的消费（如食用鱼翅等）与濒危野生动物的消失有直接关系，进而增强保护野生物种的意识和责任感。同时也让学生看到，拯救野生物种，人类在行动。 听力文本包括两部分，第一部分是两个人在观看野生物种保护公共宣传海报的对话。内容涉及观看海报的感受、野生物种灭绝的原因等。第二部分是一篇独白，讲述一些知名人士为野生动物保护而发声的故事。
设计理念 引导学生运用网络资源和看图预测策略，准确理解听力文本内容，就如何参与野生动物保护表达自己的观点，并用简单的英语与同伴交流野生动物的生存状况和保护措施。帮助学生在网上查看有关保护野生生物的博文并发布有关的海报回帖。
学情分析 学生对野生生物保护的理念有一定的认识，有基本的上网搜索的技能，但有关的英语表达还没掌握。另外，相关深层次的原因还有待探索。
教学目标 1. 能正确理解使用下列词汇和短语：poster, illegal, hunt, immediately, species, shark, on earth, die out, alarm, rate, rating, extinction, mass, habitat, aware, aware of, average, on average, make progress, concern, concerned about, living, adapt, adapt to, measure, pressure, under pressure, whale。 2. 在听力活动中了解物种灭绝的原因及其影响，培养学生捕捉关键信息的能力。 3. 引导学生关注与听力文本有关的图片、问题，激活学生关于单元主题的背景知识。 4. 根据所听内容引导学生探讨和表述物种灭绝的影响。 5. 在听说活动中加强学生的环保意识，唤醒人们保护野生动物的责任感
教学重难点 能够使学生通过听的活动了解物种灭绝的原因和影响，用所学语言表达保护野生动物的责任和信心，引导学生树立正确的环保观念。
教学过程
教学环节（一） 师生活动 Task 1 Talk about saving endangered wildlife Step 1 Warming-up Look at the opening page of the unit. Can you describe what you see in the picture
设计意图 引导学生通过仔细观察图片和所给的提示问题，引起学生兴趣的同时，获取学生已有知识，为下面的听说活动准备铺垫。
教学环节（二） 师生活动 Step 2 Pre-listening 1. Work on Activity 1. Discuss the following questions in groups: (1) What message do these posters share (2) Use visuals to predict content. (3) Which one moves you the most Why (4) Grasp the words or phrases: poster, illegal, hunt, immediately, species, shark, on earth, die out, extinction.
设计意图 引导学生通过观看视频和关注同学们的分享，来了解更多与话题相关知识，引起学生听说兴趣。
教学环节 （三） 师生活动 Step 3 While-listening Work on Activity 2. Students listen to two parts and finish the questions. Listen to the first part and fill in the blanks. (Before listening, Ss should learn the new words: alarming, rate, mass, habitat, aware of). After that, read the listening materials in class. Listen to the second part and answer the questions.(After listening, Ss should learn the new phrase make progress.). After that, read the listening materials in class. 2. Check the answers of Activity 2（check answers in pair and then share with whole） . 3. Work on Activity 3. Discuss the question in groups. What does “Change begins with you.” mean T can offer hints if necessary and give reference. Work on Activity 4. Discuss the questions in groups. (1) What do you know about the animals in the photos (2) What is being done to help them 5. T gives an example on how to share the views first, then Ss share views in class\groups with the given structure.
