Let's protect mangroves
Mangroves, which grow between sea and land, are praised as “coastal guardians”. In recent decades, the number of global mangrove forests has sharply decreased due to human activities and climate change. However, in China, we have made great progress in protecting mangroves.
Mangroves play an important role in improving the environment and maintaining the biodiversity of coastal areas. They take in CO2 and release oxygen, which helps reduce air pollution. They can also keep the air cool and clean. Besides, mangroves prevent sea waves and gales from damaging the coastal land. What's more, mangroves are home to plenty of birds, providing them with enough food.
Since mangroves are so important, how can we protect them First of all, we are expected to plant as many mangroves as possible. Second, protecting mangroves needs everyone's effort. We'd better spread the knowledge of mangroves. For example, we can make posters to raise the public's awareness of protecting mangroves. Third, more mangrove ecological protection areas should be established to preserve ecosystems and protect plant and animal diversity.

A photo reminds people to protect horseshoe crabs
Laurent Ballesta, a French photographer won Wildlife Photographer of the Year prize for his photo of a horseshoe crab. He hopes that the photo can draw people's attention to horseshoe crabs.
Horseshoe crabs are ancient animals. They have been on Earth for at least 400 million years. Sadly, they're in danger now. In the 1960s, scientists made a big discovery. They found that the blue blood of horseshoe crabs has medical value. As a result, hundreds of thousands of horseshoe crabs were caught and killed every year. Overfishing as well as ocean pollution has led to horseshoe crabs being at risk.
Laurent Ballesta's photo not only reminds people about the serious situation that horseshoe crabs are facing, but also reminds people to play a part in protecting horseshoe crabs on Earth. So let's take action to make a difference now.

How I live a low-carbon life

What deserve to be mentioned ( 值得一提) is that I turn off all lights when I leave the room and I only use LED lights at home. In addition, I always travel on foot or by public transport. In summer, I set the air conditioner at 26℃ or above.
