He found many Canadians were handing out small items, including soccer jerseys. “Why are they handing out soccer jerseys ? ” Reeleder asked himself. “We are from Canada. On his another trip to Mt. Everest Base Camp, Reeleder brought a few hockey jerseys to hand out. Since that trip, the project has turned into something huge, and so far Reeleder has given out about 13, 000 used jerseys and hockey equipment around the world.

Every year, millions of people visit the world's ancient monuments (历史遗迹), such as the Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt (built around 2500 BCE), and Britain's 4,500-year-old stone circle at Stonehenge. As the years pass, stones often start to break into pieces and things fall apart. The Great Sphinx has lost its nose. Various stones are missing or have fallen over at Stonehenge. The Colosseum in Rome has no floor covering its underground rooms. English Heritage, an organization that looks after more than 400 historic sites in England, says, “Careful management is needed if we are to pass them on to future generations in good condition.” Careful management requires alterations.
However, some think people should let time and nature work their magic.Leaving monuments as they are and letting time and nature do their work often results in the best alterations. The Jungle Temple of Ta Prohm in Cambodia is an untouched ancient monument where trees grow through the building. As well as being beautiful, it is mysterious (神秘的).In Egypt, there are many stories about the Sphinx's missing nose. No one knows the truth but people can wonder at the mystery.Art
historian Tomaso Montanari called the Colosseum's new floor “a false arena (假的斗兽场)”.He said, “The idea that the monument as it is not enough is all very silly.”
5. What situation are ancient monuments facing
A. They are slowly damaged.
B. They are losing their popularity.
C. They are rebuilt without scientific support.
D. They are not protected because of money problems.

C. Supportive. D. Uninterested.
7. What does the underlined part “do this” in paragraph 2 refer to
A. Experience what the monument was like long ago.
B. Get pleasure from visiting the monument. C. Learn how the monument was built.
D. Protect the monument.
8. What did Tomaso Montanari think of the Colosseum's new floor
