spring and autumn. The plant is also able to bear drought(干旱). Some
areas of China are facing water shortages, so the potato is safe to grow.

With these advantages, having potatoes as a staple will make our menu

四、 任务型阅读
人与自然——安全防范
Be careful of falling objects
In June several years ago, while a 4-year-old boy was walking under a
high building, a piece of 100kg of falling glass came from above and fell on
him. It happened suddenly and the boy couldn’t run away. He lost his life.
Things like this also happened in other parts of China. A 10-year-old girl was
on the way home after school. Suddenly, something thrown from a building
by an 8-year-old boy fell on her head.Sounds terrible, doesn’t it? Sadly,
this in fact happened in Nanjing in June. Then, someone sent the girl to the
hospital immediately.

These heartbreaking accidents caused more people to pay attention to the
risk of injury(受伤) caused by falling objects, and then what can we do
to prevent such kind of things from happening?
Firstly, while walking under tall buildings, look up to find out if
there is something dangerous above your head. If so, try to stay away from
the tall buildings and choose other paths.
Secondly, pay attention to your steps while walking under tall
buildings, and walk past them quickly. Don’t stand or sit near tall buildings
or street lights so that you can avoid falling objects.

Thirdly, don’t play with your mobile phone while walking under tall
buildings because it can make you distract(分散) your attention. If
something terrible happens at the very moment, you won’t react(反应)
quickly.
Finally, stay inside on rainy and windy days. If you have to go out,
keep away from high buildings and trees because the strong wind can blow
things down easily. And they may hit your head.
In short, follow the above rules. You can be safe and you can also
avoid unnecessary accidents.
