读写综合
[新题型·新考法]阅读短文,用英文填空或回答问题(请注意每小题的词数要
求)。
Zhao Qianwen, a 15-year-old student, was not happy when she went back to
school last month. It was not because she hated school. It was because of her hair.
Zhao studies in Liaoning. Her school has a strict hairstyle rule: No dyeing(染
发), and no curling. Boys should have a crew cut(平头). Girls’ hair cannot hang
past their ears. The front hair should not reach the eyebrows(眉毛).
Zhao and the girls in her class hate the hairstyle. They call it“mushroom head”.
Zhao’s story is not the only one. Last week in a school in Beijing, some students were
asked to cut their long hair during school time.
Most schools have some similar hairstyle rules. Xu Xing is the headmaster of a
middle school in Beijing. In his school, boys can’t have hair on their temples(太阳
穴). Girls cannot have hair past their shoulders(肩膀).
Xu says the hairstyle rule is there for good reason.“Everybody needs to have an
image(形象) that matches his or her job,” said Xu. “Those fancy(花哨的)
hairstyles are for grown-ups. School is a different place.”
While the hairstyle rules may seem unfair, teachers also have to follow them.
“While students cannot dye their hair, neither can their teachers,” said Xu.

out with friends on weekends.
My parents think that teenagers should stay at home on weekends. They should go
over their lessons. And they should have enough time to have a good sleep. They also
