一、教学内容和学情分析
本节课是绘本阅读课,内容选自《外教社·朗文小学英语分级阅读》第十二册中的故事“Little Midge Has a Bad Day”。这则故事主要是介绍Little Midge在这糟糕的一天里到底发生了哪些事情(What )、在哪里发生的(Where )、如何发生并如何解决的(How ),全文运用一般过去时态讲述故事。六年级的学生在前两个单元主要学习了一般过去时态,积累了一定的知识储备,本课绘本教学融合Unit 2 What a day!教学话题和一般过去时态,紧扣教学主题,采用图片环游的教学方式,围绕故事主线“Why does the story say that Little Midge has a bad day”,以发生了哪些事情(What )、为什么会发生的(Why )、如何解决的(How )设计问题链,引导学生带着问题观察、建构语言、理解故事内容,引导学生在生活中能够学会调整自己的情绪,形成积极健康的心态。

能够借助图片读懂故事,理解并运用故事中的词汇:wake(woke), slipped, dropped, bumped, shrink(shank), make(made), give(gave), grow(grew), drink(drank), run(ran), put(put); alarm, tire, special power, potion, almost, surprise test, crack, ceiling, brain等。
能以图片环游的方式自主阅读故事,借助插图理解故事情节,并尝试讲述故事。

能运用略读、寻读等策略阅读故事,并能借助绘本图片、上下文语境等方式猜测词义,理解故事内容。
能简单表达对故事情节的看法,培养逻辑思维能力。

Step 1 Before reading

Talk about Yang Ling’s bad day.
T: How were Yang Ling and her friends What happened to them

Talk about Mike’s bad day.
T: Look at Mike. Mike had some bad things too. What happened to him Let’s listen and choose. Take out your paper and finish Exercise 1: Listen and choose.
T: Now, let’s check the answer.
T: This time, let’s say something about Mike’s day.

【设计意图】通过谈论Yang Ling’s bad day复现story故事内容,然后通过听选练习了解Mike’s bad day,进而引导学生联系自己的生活,谈谈自己的糟糕经历,围绕话题,引导学生从书本内容走向生活实际,在开放性的话题表达中培养学生的语用能力。
Step 2 While reading
Lead into the book. Primary English Graded Readers (Book 12)
Introduce the contents of the book and lead into the story.
T: Let’s read a story from Primary English Graded Readers Book 12. Here are the contents of this book. Now, please have a look. How many stories are there in this book
T: At this lesson, we’ll read the fourth story “Little Midge has a Bad Day”.
Scan and say (P70). How many bad things happened at home this day
T: Little Midge had some bad things this day. How many bad things happened at home this day Let’s scan Page 70 and then answer. (Four bad things)
Look, read and say (P70). What bad things happened at home Why
T: What were the bad things Why did they happen Let’s try to find them.
