One possible version:
Artificial Intelligence
Nowadays, artificial intelligence, or AI, has become a hot topic and entered a fast-developing period.
The development of AI will be on its own way and cannot be stopped by anyone or any country. It will certainly bring us benefits like higher working efficiency, saving a lot of costs and resources. Of course, the disadvantages are also obvious, the first of which is that large numbers of people have to face the problem of unemployment.
As senior high students, we should be aware what is going to be replaced by AI in the future, focusing on what is irreplaceable. We’ll not fear AI, and instead we will make good use of it.
第二节(满分25分)
One possible version:
The next morning, he woke up and began to think of a way to get out. Hungry and thirsty, when looking around, he noticed his little writing book and pencil. At this very moment, an idea occurred to him. He opened his little book and wrote, “Mom, please help me. I’m trapped in a shaft.” After he finished, he tore off the piece, tied it to the string around Caper’s neck and sent for his parents. Caper ran towards home as quickly as he can.
Caper came home with a bit of paper tied to the string around his neck. The concerned parents lightened up as they knew he was with his son. Caper approached them immediately and kept jumping. The parents observed the paper and read it. Then Caper led them to where Willie was. They helped him out of the shaft and went home with great relief. All of the family members were grateful to Caper and considered him as one of their families.

W: It’s much better than the cloudy day yesterday, isn’t it
M: Yes, although the wind is coming.
Text 6
W: Jim, I hear you’ve changed your job. Why
M: When I worked in the shop, I had to get up very early and work at night. Thus I had little time to read books.
W: Where are you working now
M: In a library. It doesn’t pay as much as being a salesperson, but I don’t have to work at night and can get more reading time.
W: I see.
Text 7
W: Good afternoon. What can I do for you
M: Yes, please. I would like to know something about the driving courses.

W: A robot I can’t believe it.
M: It is true. The robot was made by an old man in Beijing, a famous cook, with the help of his German cooking teacher. You just need to put the ingredients inside the robot and input the instructions. After just a few minutes, a delicious dish will be finished.
W: Easy and convenient!
M: Yeah, it really is! The inventor plans to produce and sell more robot cooks to restaurants all over the country.
W: That’s so cool. I’d love to buy my mother one for her birthday.
Text 9
M: Ginny, how was your summer
W: Amazing. I had such a great time traveling. This time we went to China. My parents have always wanted to make a trip there.
M: You must have left right after our final day of school in June.
W: Exactly, then we have been away for almost two months. My relatives are living in Shanghai and Beijing because of work, so we visited both cities. They treated us so well.
M: China is a country with a long history. Did you go to any museums or historical sites
W: Yes, we did. We ’ll visit more next time.
M: The museums and the ancient art would have been the most exciting thing for me. I’d love to see your pictures!
W: Sure! But it’s almost time for class — see you later, Will!
Text 10
Hello, everyone. In my class presentation today, I’d like to talk about a famous poet. She is Maya Angelou. Her childhood was filled with many challenges. When Maya was just eight years old, a terrible event made her silent for five years. During this time, she found comfort in reading books and writing in her journal. Maya eventually found her voice again and discovered the power of words. She wanted to use her voice to make others think and bring hope to others. So, she started her journey as a poet. Her poems often talked about love, hope, and the strength of the human spirit. One of them is Still I Rise. It’s a powerful piece about overcoming difficulties, no matter what challenges you face. Another well-known poem is Phenomenal Woman, which is about the power of being a woman. Maya also wrote books and poems that were specially created for younger readers. One of her children’s books, Life Doesn’t Frighten Me, combines her poetry with paintings by a famous artist. This book encourages kids to face their fears and believe in themselves. So if you’re interested in her poems, please find some to read.
