一、阅读理解。
Different countries have different celebrations on many special days. Let's have a look at some of them from a website.

二、阅读理解。
Meeting someone for the first time can be embarrassing(尴尬的) if you get it wrong. Suppose you are going to meet a person from the UK. Do you know what you should say and do
A handshake is the most common way to greet someone, especially if you are in a formal(正式的) situation. However, the kind of handshake is important. Firstly, your handshake should be confident, but that doesn't
mean you need to crush(挤压) anybody's fingers. Secondly, don't be too weak. It's always a good idea to smile and make eye contact(接触) with the person you are shaking hands with. Lastly, take hold of the hand and shake it up and down twice. Don't hold on for too long — you are not asking someone to dance!
Hugging and kissing are more informal greetings in the UK. They are usually for friends, family and small children. When meeting someone for the first time, you may not want to use these ways of greetings.
In the past, Britons would usually greet strangers with a “How do you do?” Today, this phrase is seen as out of date. It's rarely used. Phrases such as “How are you doing?” and “How are you?” have become more popular. However, when a Briton says “How are you?” to you, he or she probably doesn't expect you to really answer the question. You may just reply with a “How are you?” to him or her.
Greeting phrases may differ from one place to another. You might hear a “Now then?” or “Ey up?” when you meet someone from the north of the UK. How should you reply then Just smile and say “Hi!”or “How are you?” to reply.
( )1. What is the most common way of greeting in a formal situation
A. Hug. B. Bow.
C. Kiss. D. Shake hands.

( )2. What do people do while they are shaking hands
①Be confident. ②Shake hands twice. ③Crush person's fingers.

A.回答问题。(考试建议与习俗·人与社会—历史、社会与文化—世界上主要国家的文化习俗)
请阅读下面短文,根据所提供的信息,回答5个问题。要求所写答案语法正确、语义完整切题。
Have you done enough work to get good scores Sleeping with the textbook under the pillow(枕头) doesn't work.
The best way is to break up your practice time, not to put it all together. Just as Tom Stafford advises, if you organize five hours of study into one hour a day, you will remember more than you study for five hours on one day.
Don't depend on memory alone. By testing themselves with pens and paper earlier, students will be better at getting back the knowledge from the memory and keep it in the long run.
Reviewing carefully will give you confidence. If you are still worried, it's not harmful(有害的) to follow some special customs. For example, it seems to be a tradition for Japanese students to eat Katsudon(猪排饭) before a test. This is a bowl of rice with egg and meat pieces. The name of the dish makes people think of the word “katsu”, meaning “winning”. For some students in South Korea, the key to success is not washing their hair before a test because they believe all the knowledge will be washed out of their heads.
The bottom line is that you need to study, eat a good meal, sleep well at night before the test, and believe that what you have tried to do will bring you success.
Good luck in your test!
