第一节【参考范文】
Dear Mr. Liu,
I’m Li Hua, a student from Class 6. I learned from the Internet that during the School English Week a host for parties is wanted, a position which I am interested in.
I’m sure I am well qualified for the job. To begin with, I can speak English fluently. In addition, I enjoyed acting and performed many times on different stages, which will contribute to my hosting the party well. Last but not least, I am capable of organizing activities and have a strong team spirit.
Thanks for reading my application. Looking forward to your early reply.
Sincerely yours,
Li Hua
第二节
参考范文:
Paragraph 1:
“There’s a big food festival downtown today, and we got you a stand.” Jacob said. “Why not go there and give it a shot ” He continued to ask the kids, who could barely contain their excitement and jumped up with wide joy. “Yes, officers!” they exclaimed, a big smile broadening from ear to ear. It was not long before all the lemonade was gathered. The officers soon set up the lemonade stand and uploaded a post introducing their experience, which went viral and caused quite a stir in the neighbourhood. Grandma and the two kids were surprised to see their stand packed solid with people attracted by lemonade.
Paragraph 2:
There was a large crowd eager to buy lemonade. By the end of that day, the children were shocked to see that apart from the money raised, they also received loads of cards with warm and encouraging words. Grandma took the cards with trembling hands, cradling them in arms with tears brimming in her eyes. As soon as their mom was discharged from the hospital, they visited the police station and thanked the officers for their generosity and kindness. John and Nancy hugged Jacob tightly, knowing that they would never forget what they had been through and would cherish the love for good.

Text 10
M: OK. Good morning, everyone. Now I’m going to talk about technology and learning. First of all, let’s talk about the Internet. There are several ways you can use to improve your English. You can read, listen and write.
Firstly, writing practice is good for your learning. On the Internet there are two places where you can write — message boards and live chat rooms. Live chat rooms are great for improving your fluency, because you have to write quickly. People don’t want to wait too long to hear your response. A message board is good for both fluency and accuracy because you can think and prepare before you write.
Also, the Internet is a good place to practice your listening. The Internet may be better than the radio as you can listen again and again. You should visit a good news site, such as the BBC. BBC radio is an incredible resource. The ability to listen repeatedly, and to pause, allows you to put into practice the advice I gave in the reading and listening skills section. In order to improve your listening, you have to be an active listener: make notes; try to write down the main points and new vocabulary.
Finally, visit the website for the textbook. There are extra practice exercises and reading materials. It also offers learners special message boards. OK. That’s all for today. Thank you for listening.
