Huang Xuhua was born into a rich family.In order to make our country stronger,he gave up the chance to be a doctor,but tried to learn how to make/build the nukes. Although the conditions were very hard at that time,he concentrated on studying the knowledge of making/building the nukes.

一、一般过去时的被动语态
1.使用的范围
当动作发生在过去,且句子的主语是动作的承受者时,使用一般过去
时的被动语态。
2.基本结构与句型
一般过去时被动语态的基本结构为:was∕were+及物动词的过去分
词。具体结构如下:
(1)肯定句:主语+ was∕were +及物动词的过去分词(+其他)。如:
Printing was invented in China.
印刷术是在中国被发明的。
(2)否定句:主语+ wasn’t∕weren’t+及物动词的过去分词(+其
他)。如:
The people in the ship weren’t saved.
轮船上的人没有获救。
(3)一般疑问句及其简略回答:Was∕Were+主语+及物动词的过去分词
(+其他)
肯定回答:Yes,主语+ was∕were.
否定回答:No,主语+ wasn’t∕weren’t.如:

(4)特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+was∕were + 主语+及物动词的过去分词

二、when和how long的用法
1.when意为“什么时候,何时”,常用来询问某个具体的时间点。如:
When did he start writing music
他什么时候开始写歌的
when也可译为“当……的时候”,引导时间状语从句。如:
He started playing football when he was seven.
他七岁时开始踢足球。
2.how long意为“多长时间”,常用来询问时间段。常用“for+时间
段”或“since+时间点”来回答。如:
—How long did you learn English
“你学英语多长时间了 ”
—For about 5 years.
“大约五年了。”
