二、倍数的表达
1. 用形容词表示甲是乙的几倍时，用下面三个句型，用副词表示则一般只用前两个句型。
(1) A+谓语动词+倍数+adj比较级/adv比较级+than+B
A+谓语动词+倍数+adj比较级/adv比较级+than+B的意思是“A比B（长、宽、高等）……倍”。
值得注意的是，这里形容词或副词需要用其比较级。用这种方法表示倍数时，需要注意到底应该怎么表示倍数。比方说，假如形容A是B宽度的三倍，用这个句型，从字面上理解，就应该是A的宽度比B的宽度多两倍，也就是A是B宽度的三倍。 所以这里的倍数应该是twice。
例如：
The new building is twice higher than the old one. 这座新楼是旧楼的三倍高。
A+谓语动词+倍数+as+adj./adv.+as+B
A+谓语动词+倍数+as+adj./adv.+as+B的意思是“A是B的……倍”。值得注意的是，用这个句型表示倍数时，其形容词和副词不需要用比较级，用原形即可。
用英语表示“倍数”，可以用times来表示。比如两倍，就是two times，三倍就是three times。
