教学过程
Step 1 Warm-up
The teacher shows a recording clip and pictures to create a situation: A baby alien named You, you fell down to the earth because of the shortage of energy. He wanted to collect power stone in order to go back home. Then asks students to help You, you by finishing tasks to get power stones.
Step 2 Presentation and drill
Activity one: New Words Learning
The teacher plays an English song for students and then ask them to name the following the different types of transportation: train, bus, subway, ride, bike.
Ask students to play a game:
Find the different types of transportation.
Give the students the first power stone.
Activity two: “How + 助动词+主语+ go to + 地点?” Sentence Learning.
The teacher show different pictures to get students be familiar with the sentence patterns:
--How do you get to school
--I ______to school. (take the bus/take the subway/ride a bike/ walk/take the plane/ take the train)
Pair work. Ask students to have a pair work by using the sentence patterns.
The teacher show different pictures to get students be familiar with the sentence patterns:
-- How does she get to work
--She rides a bike to work. = She goes to work by bike.
-- How does he get to work
-- He walks to work. = He gets to work on foot.
Ask students to play a game: Match phrases with the same meaning.
Ask students to finish 1a and check the answers.
Ask students to listen to 1b and then check the answers.
Let students to play a guessing game: How does she/he go to …
Give the students the second power stone.
Activity three: Numbers Review and Learning
The teacher asks students to play a game: Say the numbers as quickly as you can!
Get students listen and repeat the numbers. Then write the correct number next to the word.
Give the students the third power stone.
Activity four: New sentences Learning
The teacher teaches the new sentences by show pictures and asking questions.
A: How does Tom get to school
B: He walks to school.
A: How long [多长时间] does it take [花费] (to get to school)
B: It takes him thirty minutes.
The teacher teaches another new sentences by show other pictures and asking questions.
A: How does Jack get to school
B: He takes the bus to school.
A: How long does it take (to get to school)
B: It takes him 25 minutes.
Throw a question “How far(多远) is it from your home to school ” Students answer.
Show a map and get students to talk about that.
A: How far is it from … to …
B: It's about … kilometers.
Pair work. The teacher gives an example at first.

Step 3 Listening Practice
1.Ask students to Listen and complete the chart in 2b.
2. Finish 2c. Listen again. Check your answers in 2b.
3. Check answers.Give the students the fifth power stone.
Step 4 Group work
Ask students to interview the group numbers about how their parents get to work or how their family go to other places. Four students are in one group. The teacher gives a sample.
A: How does your mother / your father get to work/ go to Shanghai/...
B/C/D: He /She ... (to work/ Shanghai/...).
A: How long does it take (to work/to get to Shanghai/...)

Step 5 Homework
Draw a picture to show how you go to school and write some sentences to explain it. (画出你上学的方式,在图上配文字介绍说明。要求用上今天课堂所学的句型。)
Finish the exercise on your pad to consolidate what we have learned today.(完成课堂分层巩固限时练习。)
